Hey guys I'm in a doubt to buy Braid for PC so my question is:Is Braid highly recomended or a game that does not live up to its expectations?

I'd wait for a discount on Steam (or however you buy it for PC). I purchased Braid while it was on sale on Xbox Live for 800 points ($10) rather than the 1200 point ($15) usual. I know I would have been irritated paying full price for such a short game, but it is very fulfilling as a puzzle game.

If you're looking for an amazing story, Braid isn't really it. It has a very highbrow plot that's hard to figure out (and seems very self-indulgent).

But the different puzzles and techniques are a blast, and you get a real sense of accomplishment figuring them out. I know I didn't use an FAQ or anything even once and I was pleased to figure it out on my own.

Call of Cthulhu was the last game I played that had some head-squeezing element I really hope they make more games like that one!

As for braid, I'm getting it on the 360 .. When I get some points It's a must

lol, yolky barely played it. i think you may have gotten farther than he did by just playing the demo... lol... anyway, i'm trying to think back... um... it's mostly fighting... some pretty freakin hard fighting and it's got wave after wave of enemies... but there are quite a few puzzles. i remember after one important boss fight you have to figure out a puzzle that, while isn't terribly tough by itself, the actual jumping and stuff can be a pain. there's also alot of the old "grab this statue or piece here and take it all the way back over to that room and place it into the slot, then do the same with another before the door will open"... and there's quite a few rooms and stuff that require lever triggering, quick timing, precision running and jumping, etc. i'm quite happy to have actually beaten it. i played the original on xbox, then got sigma when it came out on ps3. the xbox one i've played and beaten several times over, though the sigma one has alot more stuff, and i haven't beaten everything since there's a few side stuff or bosses that you're not "expected" to beat cause if you do, you're really freakin badass and you unlock really special stuff i guess. the ds game is a bit easier though... but some of the fights in it are pretty challenging as well. there's a dragon at the beginning and if you can beat it (not necessary to continue if you don't) you can unlock momiji (the girl in the ds game that's also playable in sigma 2). have yet to do that though...

@ dido: if the game is anything like the ds game... pass... the ds game sucked... bad... i got to the third level or something and go so bored i haven't played it since.

Hehe mine too. Once you wrap your head around making one key work for two doors, you start to figure out the formula for all the time bending tomfoolery.

If so can anyone explain how the battles work?

Is it similar to Valkyrie Profile on the PS1?

I need my RPG fix on the PS3 and there aren't any 'real' rpgs out yet.

The demo is a good way to test it out. Haven't played VP (though I'm very intrigued by it), but it's a timed event to move your character around and select attack moves to perform. Again, the demo is a good way to see how the combat works. And if you haven't played Valkyria Chronicles, go purchase it now! I rank it up with KOTOR

For VC? I downloaded the demo a while ago. Can demos get taken down? Or is that a silly question?
