Hey guys,

I have finished my exams and now I have one year left till the big step in live begins. I have so many plans to do in so little time. I am going right after school to a theatre and study acting and thus voice acting, then I will study various things and probably will be really active during that time.

One of my many plans is: Game developement.

So look, I am not really artistically talented, nor can I programming, nor am I really interested in that.
But I can invent stories. I can come up with good characters and develope deep backgrounds, and even suggest good designs. Since I read lots of old cultures and have studied Faust pretty much, I think I can even go far for depth in characters and stories.I could be pretty much a director and a producer.Maybe even script writer.I know what fans wants. And I know how to satisfy them.

Right now I have 3 games in my mind I wish to have it released. I worked them in my brain for quite some time so it has some hold. Also I hired an amateur concept artist and made a friendship with a talented componist so that could be arranged aswell.

My ideas could be either really fail, or really epic, depending how I present it.

So yeah, for the first 2 games, I thought of releasing them with Ubisoft.Mostly since they got the right engine.

So what do you think should I exactly do for being part of Ubisoft? Ben Mattes did it,so I can do it too!

Eh Tris... [off-topic]dont you think your skills and what you "may know and can do" could have a better use on a better studio? Mean Happy[/off-topic]... I dont think Ubi would just hire somebody because of his creativity or because they can come up with good stories, or because of what they've read -yes, thats an important- but I mean, I supose you need to show them some sort of experience on the field and credentials Razz... Benny boy surely had some of that [even those minor cellphones roles he played before TT had to do with that XD im pretty sure of that; I dont think they just hired him because he was a guy with "vision" and just with that Razz]...

Do you have any kind of small project[which actually works obviously] of your own which can be showed to them as a proof of your skills? that might work Wink

Good luck man Smile

First things first good luck in the video gaming world. Thumbs Up

Saying you're good in story writing I suggest to go for the script writing but director isnt bad either-being a director gives you great possibilities in creative freedom if you want your game to be a complete work.Something like Stanley Kubrick.

I don't really have any advice for your main post, but if you want to get into any industry like gaming then you're definately gonna need to work your arse off and make yourself exceptionally good.
Easy peasy.

What is your university major/specialization in? (Are you in uni or high school? I assume you're college-age)

Unfortunately, it sounds like the profession you want to go into is Creative Direction or producing. Even if you have no interest in art or programming, you usually need to at least have some skills in those areas in order to effectively direct those people. Most people getting involved in movies didn't just start off directors; they took film classes, carried cameras around, set up lighting and props and all that, then climbed the foodchain.

Or, barring learning those skills, you need money. Lots of it. Then you can start your own games and companies and do whatever you want.
