Me thinks people are not voting because it will only count 20% of the total result, which is nothing and won't change anything, which is why they don't care anyway.

I'm not voting because the process takes quite a long time.
I'd be happy with just voting on team A or B. Smoke signals from my last cigarette let me know that it's finally getting old. It will never change. So here it stays. Forever is my name. Do not mistake coincidence for fate. |

We cannot please everyone and unfortunately that is always true, it seems. The voting weight has been given because of the inherent existing bias that could arise in the voting. However, we have changed what we initially had as voting structure, and actually the forum members' vote counts now as opposed to being simply a popular vote. It has less weight than the one of the PoP team, yes, but it still counts in the final tally. |

Do we still have to wait THAT long? I mean the POP team won't take more than half an hour to make their decission, which is basically a lunch break.

I don't think 20% really counts as anything to be honest, I mean it won't have any effect on the PoP team decision anyhow, except in some rare case
I don't see why you have to take all those measures to prevent bias, I mean it's just a forum competition for the fun of it's members, it's not like the winning team will get their game made or something |

True that. But there was some prize that was promised to the winners. Can't remember what exactly. Still these measures seem a bit extreme.

I'm inclined to believe that the current voting system is too complicated more so than people backing away because they think their vote won't count. I mean, after all, we vote in polls all the time without any action being taken, but that's because we just have to click a button and hit Submit. Having to comb through each and every entry to carefully rank both games on criteria is more than just a simple Yes or No. I know that if I were allowed to vote, the sheer complexity would probably scare me off some, or at least to the point where I'd do it later when I thought I had the time. Maybe others share my train of thought and haven't fully read both gameplans yet.
Signed art ...thingie. Something like that. Rare print, I think? |

@Raz: well it really depends on which lunch break that will be
@UK: I beg to differ. I had to use a lot of scoring scales with different weights attached to different categories and I know it will count, especially if there will be a lot of votes. It won't be as dramatic as if the weights were equal, yes, but it will count. As for the measures: Simply put, because it's not a regular game. It's a boys vs girl, gender type competition and bias can inevitably appear, regardless of how much we want to think it won't. We wanted to avoid any possible ensuing comments regarding fairness, etc - I'm sure you see what I mean. The voting scores are based on what the team had to construct for the gameplan. I think the voting is only fair to actually give points for each category they had to work on - not only does that respect the effort of each member of the team and in general the constructing of such a gameplan, but also shows that those that gave the scores actually looked carefully at what they have voted on. I know the categories might seem many, but that's what the teams actually had to put together - we only have to read or see what they have already created to each category and attach a score from 1 to 5 to it. A simple overall score couldn't have shown that. Let's say someone likes team A's storyline but not so much the environments described and has opposite views for team B. The score could hypothetically be the same, but it wouldn't reflect at all what exactly the scoring was based on. A poll would mean no control whatsoever on the votes and who votes, which I don't think is appropriate for this type of contest. The prizes are limited edition artworks signed by the devteam. |

/signed But i think just vote for a or b wouldn't be fair for the both teams. They had the most work at all. ^^ |

Moderator, 20% does not really make a diffrence
And about being bias, how would we be bais if we dont know who is team A and who who is team B |

Oh come on, don't tell me you're too thick to read the damn first post. It's all right there. Now everyone's just whining for the whining itself, it's not really a productive way to make things better. Don't you realize that the less that people vote, the more the ones that DO vote count? So if you want to make a difference, any difference, STOP WHINING AND START VOTING! I'm Robert Keder, and I approve of this message. Release the stars! |

Touché! Ha, here I am, preaching about being too thick to read the first page! *ashamed* EDIT: Still, I think there should be less complaining. The mood is kind of heavy for what's supposed to be a fun contest! But it was a crime of passion. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Robert_1989, Release the stars! |

Hi Folks
Well, The voting is open for 30 days and there is a lot of time to go for voting. The General Members will give votes I am sure. We have received two votes from Knight and Bhadva and I am sure a lot others will come as well. Plus we have the POP Team as well for voting. The Voting Procedure isn't complex. The Gameplan has necessary 10 to 11 Ingredients on the basis of which a Gameplan is Made. So ever category has been crafted in a different way. In Some Categories, Team A has done well, In some Team B has done well, and finally we have an overall gameplan category. It was necessary to separate all these categories and having Separate marks for each of them, we couldn't make it just an overall Ranking. We strongly feel and believe that it was the best way of Giving Marks to partcipants since each and every category has its own value I do agree that the Competition is fun. But to maintain the fun of the Game, it has to be very much honest in every way. Lastly, Please refrain to make it a discussion box and wait for votes. The Thread is meant for voting. On an Important note. If you have questions, Please do a PM. Thank you. Edit: Those who feel that voting process takes a long time. Please read the plans per visit to forums in bits and pieces. Take your time. We have enough days to go. This message has been edited. Last edited by: pop_sot, |
