He isn't using a real sword technique. It's one of those movie/game swordtechniques which just have to look awesome.

When I saw him guard with the sword, it was as if he was holding his arms up for a hand-to-hand fight. I gotta admit, his fighting style with a sword and gauntlet is really interesting. With a stance like his during, its not wonder he easily switches between his gauntlet and sword. The way he holds his sword out, he vertically strikes and moves his arm in front giving him the choice of either attacking with the sword or grabbing with his gauntlet and the interchanging combo continues along with his acrobatics and the assistance of a partner. Who ever thought of this fighting style is pretty good.
