These forums are for the discussion of Ubisoft games, including advice, feedback and general gameplay talk. We ask that all posts are civil, respectful and constructive – this ensures all visitors can enjoy and benefit from these forums, plus we can more easily collect feedback (be it positive or negative) to pass on to Ubisoft game developers.

To this end, there are specific forum rules covering the sort of behaviour that is and isn’t acceptable here. While the general guideline of “Treat others as you would wish to be treated” applies, all visitors must also abide by these rules. If you do not do so your post may be moved, locked or deleted, and may also result in a temporary or permanent ban.

    Online Safety

We strongly recommend you do not arrange to meet anyone from these forums. Always consult a parent or guardian if appropriate or speak to a Community Manager. You should also not give out personal contact details, including real name, phone number, email or home address.

    Back to the list

    Inappropriate Content

Gamers of all ages are welcome to view these forums. As such, any posts containing
profanity, obscenity, insults, personal attacks, accusations or abusive language will be edited or deleted and will result in a warning or, in severe or persistent cases, a ban from the forum.

This forum also uses a language filter to remove words that we consider inappropriate for use here. Such words will be replaced with asterisks (*) or other characters. Working around this swear filter in any way, including using asterisks or acronyms, is still considered swearing and therefore not permitted. Signatures, avatars, banners, titles and other images must also follow these rules.

Racial, religious or sexual slurs are likely to result in immediate banning. Discussion of software piracy in any of its forms is strictly not allowed on these boards. “Piracy” includes links to illegal downloads of games or methods by which to circumvent copy protection mechanisms.

    Back to the list

    No Flaming

This includes any kind of personal insult, flame or intimidation. Responding in kind to a flame message is viewed as equally unacceptable, regardless of who started it. If you believe you are being insulted or otherwise flamed by another poster, please PM a forum moderator or admin rather than responding.

“Naming and shaming” suspected cheaters is also considered flaming given that it is rarely possible to prove guilt and only causes arguments. If you believe you have a strong case against a suspected cheater please contact the server operator (on PC) or report it to the Ubi tech support team.

There is no need to turn disagreements into heated arguments. Rather than letting these threads become flame wars please agree to disagree or the thread is likely to be locked.

    Back to the list

    No spamming

Repeatedly posting the same post or topic in a forum, or across multiple forums, is considered spamming. Such posts will be locked, edited or removed. Intentional off topic or nonsense posting is also likely to be considered spam and will receive the same treatment, especially if this takes an existing thread off topic.

If you think of something else you want to add to the thread, please use the Edit button rather than making multiple posts in a row as this may also be seen as spamming, whether intentional or not.

    Back to the list

    Stay on topic

Please make sure your post is going in the correct forum. We have specific forums for each game, some of them with their own Off Topic area or Community Help section. Threads that are off topic, or become so, may be moved or locked.

    Back to the list

    Private Threads

This forum system allows users to create Private Threads, similar to Private Messages on other forums. While only invited users can normally view these threads, they are also subject to the same rules and moderation as public threads. As such these are also viewable by Forum Managers in instances where the PT is reported.

    Back to the list

    No bumping

Making short posts made with the sole intention of keeping posts near the top of the forum is called “bumping”. This raises forum traffic and clutter unnecessarily and moves more active threads down the page. As such it is not allowed and may result in the thread being lost and persistent offenders may have their posting privileges removed.

    Back to the list

    Language

As this forum is managed by Ubisoft US and UK teams we ask that all posts on this board are made in English so we can effectively moderate. Ubisoft official forums are available in other major European languages, you can find these linked from your local Ubi.com. We also ask that you avoid “txt spk” or posting in all caps as this can be considered rude or make posts difficult to read.

    Back to the list

    Reporting Posts

If you see a post that you think needs moderator attention, please report it using the yellow exclamation mark button in the bottom right of each post. While it is not always possible to deal with a reported post immediately, all reported posts will be dealt with accordingly if they require it. Abuse of the reported post system is subject to the same rules as abuse of any other system on this forum.

    Back to the list

    External Content

Anything linked to from these forums must follow by the same rules as any content directly posted here. This includes signature images, links and images.

    Back to the list

    Signatures

Signatures and avatars must not exceed set guidelines for both dimensions and file sizes. If they do so they will likely be removed by a moderator or admin, as will avatars or signatures using inappropriate images. Anyone re-posting an image, signature or avatar that was removed by a moderator or admin risks a temporary or permanent ban.

For full details on Signature/ Avatar guidelines as well as details on how to post them check out THIS THREAD

Quotes from other posts are also not allowed in forum signatures, purely because they are invariably used to ridicule other people, often other forum members.

    Back to the list

    Duplicate Accounts

Creating an extra account is not allowed on these forums and second or further accounts will be removed. Doing so to get around a temporary ban will also result in a permanent one. The only exception is if you wish to start a new account to change usernames (and therefore stop using your old one), however please notify a mod or admin before doing so. Character accounts (i.e. creating a duplicate pretending to be a fictional or real person), or accounts impersonating an Ubi representative, will earn an immediate ban. This also applies to using existing accounts to post lock messages or other actions impersonating a moderator. Ban decisions are also final and not up for discussion.

    Back to the list

    Moderators and Forum Managers

Forum Managers are individuals contracted by Ubisoft to assist with the running of these forums. They hold similar powers to Ubisoft Community Managers and are regularly kept informed on upcoming titles, patches and so on. They will pass on such information from Ubisoft wherever possible. Forum Managers are also constantly involved in reporting back community comments, suggestions, issues and concerns on all our titles. Community Managers are full time Ubisoft employees, part of their responsibilities including monitoring the forums and assisting/updating the mods and Forum Managers where possible.

Community Developers are also Ubisoft employees who work in our development studios and form a bridge between the developers and gamers. They exist to inform you on updates and happenings with their respective games, as well as to take your feedback to the developers to help improve current and future titles where possible.

Volunteer moderators are community members chosen to help with the day-to-day running and maintenance of the forum. Mod actions are not a topic for public discussion, if you have a serious issue to raise with moderation please contact a Forum Manager. Flaming them or their actions (this includes telling them how to moderate) is no more acceptable than insulting a regular user. We ask that mods receive the same civil treatment as other forum members as they put in a lot of time and effort into these forums. If you need to contact a moderator, community manager or forum manager, you can view that forum’s moderators under its title (e.g. Splinter Cell) on the main forum index.

    Prince of Persia Specific Rules:

    General Posting:
In order to stem the amount of threads being locked due to posts being in the incorrect forum please assist us by making the correct choice before starting a new Topic Thread.

General/Off-Topic Forum: Discussion related to PoP aswell as Off topic topics and games.
Hints & Tips Forum: For all your gameplay needs.
Prince Of Persia - Legacy Forum:For all your Prince Of Persia help in game play. Also to discuss the classic Prince of Persia games
Community Technical Help Forum :Computer/console issues that need to be solved along with game problems.
It is in everybody's best interest if you keep your posts to the correct forums.

From now on we will be locking or moving Community Technical Help threads and/or Hints & Tips Threads we find in the General/Off-Topic Forum!
Useless threads will be closed without explanations " if you want to know why your topic was locked, read the rules to find out.

    Soundtracks:
There's been some confusion as to which links are allowed to be posted on the forum and which aren't, so we decided to state it here once and for all. The only links we'll allow are those to downloads of the PoP:SoT soundtrack - links to the PoP:WW, PoP:T2T and PoP 2008 soundtracks fall under the category of illegal downloads and will be dealt with as such!

    Games/Chat Threads
People who come here with the sole purpose of playing games and using the chat thread without contributing to the PoP community in any other way will be warned to desist.
We know the games on this forum are a way to pass time, but they are not to be abused. We see some members post exclusively in the game threads in order to raise their post counts or just out of sheer boredom, and that is not what they're intended for. When members get a post count of 200 in 2 days, with 90% of those posts made in game threads we have to step in and say it's getting out of hand.

Everyone is free to post in whichever thread he or she desires within reason. When we notice the games and chat thread are being abused we will step in with a warning for the members in question and if it does not let up, there will be consequences ranging from a probation period in which games/chat thread are off limits to that member, to a suspension or ban from the forums.

    "Official________ Thread" Threads:
We've noticed lately people seem to be calling every new thread they create the "Official _____ thread" to draw more attention to it. From now on this will no longer be allowed. When the mods see an overabundance of one particular kind of threads (or numerous threads about one and the same topic) it will be up to them to create one official thread to replace all others in order to prevent flooding. Using the appendage "Official" to make your own threads stand out more will no longer be tolerated. If you do create another official thread the mods will edit the title at their discretion - you have been warned.

    Persia/Iran Debates:
In recent years, various threads have been created to discuss historical issues/inaccuracies in relation to Prince of Persia. With the majority of these threads turning heated; creating a sour atmosphere within the thread, we decided to close them.
As the Moderators don't wish a repeat of yesteryear, we strongly discourage you from creating these type of threads.

Remember Prince of Persia is not a history lesson but a game, and should be treated as such.

ok thanks for the update but i have a question regarding the persia/ iran threads. Im assuming you dont want to have them because they create some sort of cultural/political tension. So is it policy that UBI forums do not want any threads which could turn out to be highly controversial, or are such threads allowed under highly moderated circumstances?

for example the " intellectual discussion thread" that we have, can at times have some touchy topics , so would this be permitted?

    This should have been locked.

All threads are monitored, and any thread which goes out of bounds will be dealt with on its own merits.

Persian/Iran threads are an exception due to the nature of Prince of Persia, and history has shown major arguments stem from these debates.
