Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, it is also believed that, in order before our apendix re-evolves, the human race will decay a in some way first (because of the drastic food change) and it would take several generations for our bodies to adapt, and there is when our apendix would re-evolve. Fish is included in meat...and egg is technically meat, since it's a cell of a bird...
Milk doesn't have enough B12 to make up for lack of meat, and most vegetarians don't drink milk anyhow...

Fish isn't included in meat, as a lot of vegetarians will still eat fish.
Vegetarian is a different thing ot being vegan, or whatever.

Pretty much all the vegetarians I know or have known, still eat fish and eggs and still drink milk.

If we were all vedgertarians then I can guaranttee you that the world will be a different place right now

You know there'd actually be less animals, right? Killing and eating them isn't simply a method used to stifle their perpetually growing numbers; They're mass bred to feed a large consumer base, so eliminate the consumer base and then what happens? You have a lot of useless animals that would simply take up space. We'd likely end up killing them for being too expensive with no forseeable return on that investment, or, by setting them free, we'd basically want them off our land, and by sending them off, we'd have to send them where nobody owns. Now, considering how many hundreds of millions of cattle there are in the world...well, most would starve to death or get beaten to death by their superior others.

In fact, some speculate that the fact that we have mass bred cattle for so long is the only reason they haven't been eliminated by natural selection.

Sorry, did I say natural selection? I meant "evil sinning man". Natural selection suggests Evolution, which we all know is a myth.


Stephen Colbert aside, In regards to this "what is vegetarian" argument...one thing I find interesting is that some Vegetarians and all Vegans don't eat eggs.
Why?
Produce of an animal, yes, yes. But...unless fertilized, eggs don't turn into anything. They just rot. It's the cell of an animal.
So? When you breathe, you're breathing in, among the air, cells of animals that HAVE turned into things. Most are bacteria, some are of birds, some are human. There's all sorts of freaky stuff floating around in the air and nobody notices it. Eggs are incapable of feeling pain or emotion, or even generating conscious thought, so if you eat one that was never going to serve a purpose...what's the big deal?

lmao! I'm not cheating! I will only eat somethign if it's mute or hideous. Fish are hideous and mute so I'll eat them. =P

I can't drink milk because I'm lactose intolerant though. However, I will still torture myself by eating cheese and having icecream. No animals have died to get milk, and nor have chickens died to provide eggs. I just don't understand how people can buy battery farmed eggs.

I feel sorry for domesticated animals, they are dependant on us farming them. In that respect, we can't become globally vegetarian, because, as some have said, there are just too many animals being bred for slaughter etc.

And Ibby dear, our veggies aren't too expensive atm. It's milk and meat for us, we have a dairy shortage so milk is like $4 a litre in the supermarket. =\

Yeah some vegetarians eat fish, and some even keep wearing leather! If you're gonna be a vegetarian, at least be committed! I like how this discussion hasn't gone nasty. I've been on forums in the past where the vegetarians get really mad at the meat-eating people. Then the meat-eaters would just say, even if you vegetarians dont eat meat, animals are still gonna get killed. There's new life being born everyday, which keeps up the demand for meat.

That's why I can't fully support groups like PETA, I agree with their non-cruelty thing, but I could never stop eating meat. I'm not addicted or anything

But I'm vegetarian, and a recent one at that. My reasoning is as follows:

We don't have the resources to sustain the planet, and that's a given. By not contributing to the truckloads of animals that are sent off to slaughter daily (I see maybe 4 double decker trucks pass my house a day) I'm not contributing to those emissions. I'm also not contributing to the amount of packaging and wasted parts of the animal that aren't used. I also have issues with how a lot of animals are killed comercially nowadays. Plus, I'm saving a lot of money by not buying meat. I do however eat fish, as if I was to go completely without that sort of protien I would become very ill. (I have a couple of medical conditions)

Be that as it may, given the human expansion as I see it now, if animals weren't domesticated to begin with, a large portion would have had been killed off during the developement phase anyway. We would had to kill them off given the fact that their territorial range would have encompassed our farming regions, water supplies and our own little urban and rural settings.

The ethical side of which is another discussion but this is what would have happened at our given rate of developement.

If the whole world became vegetarian we wouldn't be able to feed everyone. The Asia and North Africa are already having trouble keeping up with demand and are shortage of things like Grian and Rice.

I personally couldn't be a vegetarian.

Pork? - Muslim, don't eat it anyway.
Beef? - Meh, probably could do without
Turkey? - Barely eat it could do without
Chicken? - Excuse me? Forget it.
