animals would be happy because we wouldnt eat them, and they will also get angry because we´d have to fight with them to get food ...

Cow/sheep/chicken manure all over the place...green fields full of happy animals...more green farms-no butcheries... our cholestrol would lower..our hearts and digestive system will jump for joy...weight loss in general...more furry friends to play with
 ....happiness,love and world peace is sure to follow!   Did I leave anything out?

Yeah, you forgot something! The chickens, pigs and cows would relatiate against us because of all the centuries being hunted and eaten by us, once they numbers multiply, I guess it would be our end. Wow, am I seriously the only one who knows that if we don't eat meat, we will actually get sick cause of lack of vitamins that we can only get from meat?

There would be way too many animals for a start! By eating them, we keep their population at a manageable level, and we also get essential vitamins, as somebody mentioned. There is a protein you get from eating meat, that you seriously lack if you are a vegetarian. A balanced diet is the best thing, not too much of one food group!

I don't know about the whole world becoming vegetarian, because a lot of people rely on the vitamins from meat.
But I'm vegetarian, and a recent one at that. My reasoning is as follows: We don't have the resources to sustain the planet, and that's a given. By not contributing to the truckloads of animals that are sent off to slaughter daily (I see maybe 4 double decker trucks pass my house a day) I'm not contributing to those emissions. I'm also not contributing to the amount of packaging and wasted parts of the animal that aren't used. Meat is very expensive atm, because we are in the middle of a drought, and so the animals are beocmming more difficult to keep and feed. The domesticated sheep and cows are struggling to get enough grazing land, the land itself is utterly barren, and a lot of people who are in the meat buisness may as well be vegetarian. I also have issues with how a lot of animals are killed comercially nowadays. Plus, I'm saving a lot of money by not buying meat. I do however eat fish, as if I was to go completely without that sort of protien I would become very ill. I think I have a reasonably balanced diet and I'm not overweight either so I don't see why would I wanna cut back on meat. Besides think of something else. Vegetarians aren't supposed to drink milk. And say, if you stopped milking a cow, it'd die.

Ooh, intellectual discussions!
Vegetables can provide all the nutrition that meat can. Different types of beans have about as much protein, if not more, than meat. Then there's the question of emissions. Cows are responsible for 95% of the methane produced in our atmosphere. If that population explodes, then yeesh, think of what'll happen. Also, meat is expensive, but veggies are even more expensive. You have to buy a lot more because they get digested really fast and that cost outweighs meat. So yeah, it's technically not the cheapest option. The only thing that would make me agree to become a vegetarian is the ethical side of killing the animals. There are some truly atrocious ways in which animals are slaughtered for mass markets. But then again, being Muslim, I get Halal meat, which, as far as I know, means the animal is killed quickly and painlessly. As for the animal being raised free range, I'm not sure about that bit yet, but yeah, if it's not raised properly, then that would really make me think if I want to be a vegetarian or not. At the end of the day, tofu can taste just like meat if cooked properly. So no big loss!   |

If we all became vegetarians, first I'd wonder what the hell happened. Then I'd be addicted to meat-free chili con carne.
If everybody on earth suddenly lost the ability to eat meat, then I'd guess the population would drop noticeably within the next few months. Obviously not for most of us here, because we have access to a near enough constant supply of vegetables and other crap. Tofu shmofu! I wonder what tofu tastes like. |

however in western markets hallal meat is prepared by having a recital of the quran during the killing of the animal, both ways are fine( religiously) and i bet the its the way the mass hallal market is done. Not so nice though is it. i like cereal |
