If you read my July 17th post. The answer is there. I have an early copy of SH3 running on Vista 64 bit. Everything is self explanatory except for item 7. which I am sure you can guess. I would tell you but I think its against forum rules. If you do not want Grey Wolves or SH Commander ignore those parts. But once item 7 is done its difficult to make any more changes.

Hi
I had that problem too. SH3 refused to run under Windows Vista x64, no matter what i tried (I've spent a lot of time reading forum pages with possible solutions one after another...) At last, somewhere on the Internet, I found a forum post by someone who had bought a new copy of SH3 from Focus Multimedia in the UK (link below). I checked it up, and they actually do sell a version of the game which have the system requirements "Windows 2000/XP/Vista". So I ordered it, and as written in the post, it runs terrific under Windows Vista x64 (as well as under Windows 7 x64). I also use GWX3.0 without problems, and there is no need at all for the "nocd patch" that I usually use, because the copy protection seems to be removed. Finally I can play again, but I dont like Ubisoft's ignorance of the needed x64-patch, and by doing so forces me to buy the same game twice...
