Yikes! Foe will never want to go back to Ukraine if he played that :P

He's had enough trouble getting through Doom 3... Speaking of, how come the guy's body armor looks very similar to Doom 3's?

Sadly it was just a shooter with only little replay value.

Here is a cool video showing all commercial airliner flights of the world during 24 hours.

Airliner flights around the world within a single day

Its surely fun but it bet it surely has to be very exhausting aswell.

Not sure about his tv series /movie idea but it would be great for one of these crazy musicals.

"WASHINGTON – Two Northwest Airlines pilots have told federal investigators that they were going over schedules using their laptop computers in violation of company policy while their plane overflew their Minneapolis destination by 150 miles, the National Transportation Safety Board said Monday."

Something tells me they don't have to worry about schedules anymore. Angry Blue Guy

Ive seen several helicopter crashes onto ship accidents on youtube.

Landing on a ship is just as difficult as it is dangerous , hence so many accidents happen.

The main causes are usually strong winds and turbulences above the ship.

This one is a really crazy helicopter-ship accident. But with a happy ending !

Well this recent crash was a rappelling exercise, no landing was intended.

That youtube was interesting. You can see the tail rotor is inop, but cant tell if thats from it striking the deck or if it was the cause of the incident.

I am pretty sure it's cause it hit the deck. If you look closely, you'll see a blade messing... But again, that could have happened if the rotor wasn't spinning, right?

I think it broke when the tail hit the ground.

But the spin afterwards was done by the pilot and had nothing to do with the broken tail as the main rotor goes counterclockwise while the helicopter spins clockwise after hitting the deck.

Right ? Blink

Wait.... or is it the other way around ?

Which way would a helicopter spin after loosing the tail rotor ? The same way around as its main rotor or the other way around ? Im a bit confused right now Blink

Does the tail rotor push or pull against the torque ?

The same way, but I'm not sure about push-pull.

To summarize Newtons 3rd law: For every action there is an equal and OPPOSITE reaction. So rotor moves counter-clockwise, and you can see that the helo moves opposite that, or clockwise, after the tail strike. The pilot was very very lucky and I feel for that poor fellow laying down on the deck wondering if he is to be turned into pate.

I think you're right.

I was absolutely not sure wether the main rotor's torque is forcing the helicopter to spin into the same direction it goes or if its due to air resistance that it would go counterwise.

Just as if you would hold the rotor so that it cant spin and the force coming from the engine would logically drag the helicopter into the other direction now.

Anyway, tail rotors are nonetheless overrated Big Grin

I remember how James May watched "Where Eagle's dare" on his portable DVD Player during the Top Gear vs. the Germans challenge. Too Happy

It is amazing to me (and gratifying) that Hitler had so many innovative military technologies at his disposal and still managed to lose the war. He could have had the worlds first Air Mobile divisions.
