I'm from south of ireland, near cobh, where 6 months ago a team of divers 5 miles out from where i live found a u-boat in 100ft of water,it seems at that time late war the captain was just 21years of age, most of his crew were like 15years to 21,he met a convoy outside our harbour, convoy was returning to the uk,being an inexperienced captain he fired on 1 of the destroyers thus sinking it, in shallow waters the other 3 destroyers hunted and killed all on board his u-boat,relatives were recently told of their now found ancestors,in shallow waters i for one would not have fired on the destroyers, but let them pass, may they all R.I.P

I'm located on the western shores of Lake Michigan in a small city by the name of Manitowoc, WI Anyone ever hear of us? The shipyards turned out 28 fleet type boats during the war. If you ever get the chance come visit. You can stay overnight on the Cobia(ss-245)at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum or just take a tour if you like. www.wisconsinmaritime.orgwww.usscobia.com

15 years old, the poor kids. Cobh is a lovely place, big naval base there too. Im going scuba diving in Baltimore in the summer the U260 U260 WreckDive footage 1 (1Min)Dive footage 2 (3Mins)is sunk there and is relatively accessible. Too deep for me i think, but might see something of it.

I posted before that I live in Osaka, Japan. I've been here for over 11 years and I'm originally from just outside the Toronto area. living here in Japan and traveling around the Japan/Pacific area I see many reminders/scars of WW II. Once every six months or so the transit system is shut down due to the discovery of an unexploded WW II bomb. Granted on the scale of things that's superficial. Now going to Okinawa and seeing the park there with names of all nations involved was sobering (I should mention allied and Japanese names are both treated with the utmost respect and dignity in the Okinawa WW II memorial). Going to Hiroshima and Nagasaki are sobering beyond words. I've never met anybody who left there with a happy disposition. Believe me, it's not pleasant. Once you go there you really have an understanding of the gravity of what happened. Going to Guam Saipan there are plenty of reminders of WW II and the horrific human cost. All this being said. Silent Hunter 4 is a game and that's as far as it goes. I enjoy it because of its cat and mouse element. A great game to indeed. Now that being said I wish peace to all and never let anything like WW II happen again.

I'm living in Tongeren (belgium), but I'm Dutch. My girlfriend (Who has the Belgium nationality) wouldn't move to Holland, so i moved to Belgium. We're living our life together for almost 4 years now. Before that excodus I spent 20 years in Dordrecht (Holland) [I posted an aerial photo not so long ago on this forum] nice side note: My parents are from Groningen (Northern holland), I was born in Hengelo (near german border in the middle part of Holland) only living there for 2 years. Then we moved to Zaandam where my brother was born (near Amsterdam) We lived here for 6 years and from there we moved to Dordrecht. So we are like a nomad family So there you have it. My home town While I'm on a roll: my favorite soccer team is FEYENOORD Rotterdam and I'm a huge fan of NHL hockey, favorite team EDMONTON Oilers. Cheers D-Day june 6, 1944 For all who gave their lives on the beaches. You'll never be forgotten!!
