Isaac Hayes we hardly knew ye. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7552986.stm"US singer-songwriter Isaac Hayes has died at his home in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 65, police said. Police were called to Mr Hayes' home in the early hours after his wife found him unconscious. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead."
"This is the stickiest situation since sticky the stick-insect got stuck on a sticky bun."

Been a rough week for entertainment... My brother loved Issac Hayes during his "Black Moses" period, you know chains etc... across the chest. My eyes were opened when I started looking through the writers credits for some of the old Stax/Volt soul recordings. Mr. Hayes wrote some absolute classics including "Soul Man", "Hold on I'm Comin'", "When Something is Wrong With My Baby", while producing hundreds more. Listen to his piano work on "Soul Man"... pure inspiration. He'll be missed. Da Worfster

RIP Terence Rigby, aged 71, died of cancer. While I recall him as PC Snow in `Softly, Softly` (giving away my age here ha!) I still think his finest moment was in the weirdly wonderful TV series `The Beiderbecke Affair` and `The Beiderbecke Connection` when as `Big Al` he wasn't gay (token modern animation joke for those that care) but brought a whole heap of menace to a man without an evil bone in his body... apologies to our overseas brothers, you absolutely, positively won't have seen these series, and wouldn't get then if you had, being as they are founded in the curtain-twitching nosiness and `rub away the polite facade` grubby underbelly of parochial Middle England. One of the best character-driven black comedies of all time and Rigby played it to a `T`, with a curious passive/aggressive demeanour that marked out many of the characters he played thorughout his long career.

Not to mention one of his most famous, the theme to "Shaft".
