Hy,

This is really annoying, I have radeon x1900xt and when I launch this game clocks stay at 2D profile, meaning 500mhz gpu, 1400mhz memory, instead of my settings (or default 3D settings anyway). I am using latest catalyst 7.9 driver, windows XP sp2. In every other game I have it is ok (eg. Bioshock, Quake 3, Test Drive Unlimited etc.).

this game is baddly ported as it is, but this is really a big problem even for a port Smile

here is screenshot:

my specs are:
A64 3000+ @2700mhz
2x1GB ddr400 ram
ati x1900xt
winXP pro sp2 (all updates and latest directX)
logitec rumble pad 2 wireless

Is there a solution to this problem other then me manualy setting 2D mode to match 3D mode ? (which would be even more annoying)

Thank You.

Are you by any chance using an ASUS video card?
If so, are you using the default application for clock settings?

If not, please specify your exact model of video card and manufacturer.

Nice scores Wink
Ok, I have an nVidia 7800GTX.
I've installed nTunes and logged my clock speeds.
As soon as I entered the game they changed automatically to 3d settings.
Must be only and ATI issue. They'll have to check that.
Could be a Catalyst Issue also. Did you try other driver versions?
Also, make sure you have Catalyst AI enabled, Advanced Mode.

Thank You for your reply.

I have cat A.I. Enabled, standard mode, advanced mode washes out some textures and degrades picture quality in games, and should only be used for crossfire configurations. Catalyst drivers are 7.9. Those are latest ones. I have allready tried various options before I posted here. I usually don't post topics like this Big Grin I rather answer them Smile But I am stuck with this one Frown

Ok, I've tried using ATI Tray Tools on an older X850XT and on a X1950Pro.
Both of them show the proper 3D Clock Speeds while i'm in game. I think this is either a Catalyst Driver Issue or something just not right with your speeds unfortunately -> my guess would be ATT Profiler.

When you say...Clocks Stay at 2D profile...you mean the 2D profile of ATI Tray Tools I suppose. In this case, that is a 3rd party application so it might be their fault when detecting the game...who knows. Try to run the game without using 2D/3D clock speed manager for ATT and see if the game runs at the proper video card speeds.

Hope it helps.

I am using ATT, but I am not using clock speeds profiles, I use standard ATI Overdrive 3 controls, which work very well. My car DOES have 2D/3D clock speeds by default which are (for 2D) 500 gpu, 594 vram, with core voltage of 1.2V in 2D mode, which switches to 1.45V in 3D mode and sets the GPU clock to 615mhz (default ), and memory goes up to 725 (1450 ddr) if I am not mistaken (I keep it at 1750 so I forgot what default is ). So, long story short - I don't use ATT profiler, I choose to use Overdrive 3 where you just set your global 3D clocks.

Anyway, I tried new catalyst 8 beta, I tried catalyst A.I. on advanced, I tried uninstalling ATT, cleaning drivers etc. - no go Frown. After all this I finnaly made prfile for the game that manulay changes/forces 3D mode (eg. changes the voltage and speeds for 2D mode). It is not problem in my system, it is a problem with the game and my system Wink

other games I play (that are fine and 3D mode is detected):

TrackMania nations
Quake 3
Unreal T. 2004
Blazing Angels 1
Bioshock
ET:QW
Test Drive unlimited
C&C 3
Dark Mesiah of MM
Crysis MP beta 2
CoD2 MP
R6 Vegas
BF2142
...
all work fine except for this one (Blazing A. 2). I have gone trough enough troubble already with this game, and even with 3D clocks forced and game details lowered to minimum I get VERY bad framerates. This is just a lame port, baddly done. I am going to try and return the game to the store.

Thanks for trying to help Wink Much appreciated.

Best of Luck Smile
