Hello All,
I though to give you guys an update on the new patch.
We're still working on it and here it's what we've managed to fix/add so far.

- Joystick support for:

Logitech Force 3D

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro

Trust GM-2500 Predator

Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback 2

Saitek X45

We're still testing on other joystics as we manage to get our hands on them. Hopefully all Logitechs are now functional as well as Microsoft and lots of others.
There are still issues on the configuration (buttons and axis are not reported correctly and the throttle should be in the middle) but after a configuration the game is working fine.

On Force Feedback - the stick cets centred by the force now. If vibration is active... it might get odd when firing - but not necesarrely unplesant. Working on it too.

Technically - best it would be if we would have the time to re-write the settincs application and so on.. but... we realy want to put this out fast.

Multiplayer- soon all the games in progress will be listed (we're testing this issue on a different server now)

Cockpit - here are some screenshots.

there are issues on multilpayer (you see the other one as a flying cockpit Smile Smile ) and some many more. Fixing all as we speak.

Z800 - all functional - frame rate problems on head tracking - now with cockpit it would be fun to have but... we're struggling with it. Wating for support from maker.

Thank you.

Afantana

cockpit is optional - you press akey and you;re there.
In cockpit - there is no Enemy Camera - left/right will perform a roll an dnot a turn and so on.
You will have a way to know where your target is.

This is looking good. In fact, the progress on the updates is progressing faster than most of us were expecting, I imagine.

# If you could lose the Mouse Auto-Center, that would be a real step forward.

# Any chance of a StarForce removal tool in the near future too?

Thanks for the news update - at least we know now something is happening, and it's looking promising.

Cockpit looks great!

thanks for the update.cockpit looks nice,my question is will the hat controls on the joystick function(ie.You can use it to turn your head 360 degrees)That would be sweet.Other than that i have only one beef. On my saitek st290pro nose up down is set as buttons instead of an axis, so i cant raise or lower my nose with any kind of precision, making it very hard to complete missions and near impossible to land.

edit- p.s. does that altimeter give readings?

Good news

The screenshots look great.

Thanks for giving us something to keep our hopes up, I have practically been ****ting my pants waiting to hear something.

Afantana, so other than the models you listed there is a good chance other joysticks still wont work?

Thanks.

That was one of the things on my mind, and you guys actually did that. That makes the game more 'like-flying' (realistic).

I hope the patch arrives soon! But, reading your ‘notes’. There will be some bugs. As long as you fix them in an upcoming patch that’s ok.

Keep this up, and me and probably other people are going to be happy and be able to start enjoying this game.

ok..yup your gonna here it first..

#1 thanks for the update..we were beginning to wonder if there was life after the first patch
#2 if you can pull off this patch ...cockpit view and online playability and all the major issues i will be happy to reload this game and give ubisoft a second kick at the perverbial can.

#3 do not think for a moment though i or many others will let ubisoft off the hook for the starforce issue...that will still be a very serious thing that ubisoft will NOT be let off easily..there are a lot of us concerned gravely about this program.

stay crazy,stay real

HAHAHAHA....You chumps are going to be waiting ages for this patch. All this sh:t is nice and looks good and everything, but it should've been there from day one. This sorry f.ucking company should've gotten its last dime from you all for this joke. Hey, if you wanna wait, then wait, but you'll have a better chance of getting out of Harlem alive after yelling n:gger over and over again than getting anything productive from these sorry, b:tch assed, failed abortion developers.

Have fun waiting!

Well, erm . . . quite . . . Blink

You know, I get a strong feeling here that it's not the developers and coders that need shooting down over this, probably more like the Armani suits behind the release schedule, and the bods at the top turning up the heat for a release of the game - letting it fly, even if it is sub-standard. The developers and coders almost certainly knew, as well as we, that this game simply wasn't ready for PC users yet, and let's face it, they probably had no say in the matter.

Time is money, and all that . . .

I reckon the coders knew the sh*t would hit the fan sooner or later, but had to do as the bosses told them. What's new? These coders are now trying hard to fix this game for us, and likely as not under a lot of pressure, so thanks to them, I say. However, that's as far as my gratitude will stretch at this point in time - not much point in thanking anyone further up the command chain.

As I mentioned elsewhere, a late release with a working game would have been a much better scenario, and the only complaints in the forum would be of the 'Where's the damn game!' and 'Why no release yet!' flavour. Much more desirable from UBI's point of view. A lesson learned the hard way for UBI. Jobs are probably on the line over this ugly baby.

Anyway, I reckon I've spent enough time and effort on this game for the time being - I'm moving on to something else to keep me entertained until a proper patch emerges. If, as some say, it ever will.
