Dear UBI guys. Some good news
At least I managed to last night. I'm using a Wanadoo Livebox wireless router in front of my pc which has mcafee firewall. However, the only way I was able to play was by instant messaging some of the people on this board usin XFIRE, to see when they were on line and then going straight to the lobby and refreshing until the game they had setup appeared. Once we started the game though, it disappeared from the list even though there were only 3 of a potential 16 players leaving some latecomers in the lobby with no game to play!! It seems that the real problem is this server list. It doesn't appear to be anything to do with router ports, and I don't think that a large majority of game players, myself included, would have the confidence or ability to start changing routing settings, possible leaving computers open to attack. This whole viscious circle is sapping peoples morale and so less people are going on line and so on. I think that for the long term sucess of this game, you MUST look into why YOUR multiplayer setup has this glitch. It would also be a benefit to be able to see how many people are waiting in the lobby to see if it's worth setting up a game. Failing that, we need a fix or patch so we can play through Gamespy or a similar service. I hope this feedback helps. On a side note, I have had no issues with the joystick. I am using a playstation controller plugged into the pc via a usb port. All works fine. |

Ps....
Another quick request...... Can you add a sort function to this forum so the threads that have been commented on last appear at the top of the list. Thanks |

you cant "host" a game from behind a router

I have opened the ports 20000 till 20100 in NAT of the router and everything is working fine.

i was wondering about that. Can you join a game thats already in progress or do you only see games that are "pre-launch".
ex. say i set up a game and two people join. we set up our planes and start the game.] Is it possible for new players to join? |

Hang on a sec.
You say in another online question thread "the game will soon display all the online matches. that way you will be able to see how many games are in progress etc. The Sleep is right (thank you fo ryour support, sire) - with a router you can join but you can't host a game. The patch is comming up soon. We're on it. Thx." Does that mean we can see online games as of tonight, or do we have to wait weeks for another patch? Thanks for responding. Really appreciate it. |
