First off, did you ever get that sound driver updated? Last thing you posted about that was how you were having difficulty getting the sound driver downloaded due to some sort of third party download manager that was going to cost you money, which shouldn't be the case. Realtek's website has driver updates you can download for free and without a separate program to download. I'd recommend going to Realtek's official website for this update.

After about 3 hours of toiling around (even using driver detective to show what is not up to date) I finnished updating the audio driver. And blazing angels 2 still does not work.

UPDATE : alrighty i did a full overhaul on my drivers. i used driver detective's free service of scanning my computer. i found 14 out of date drivers. i used this nifty, quick, easy, and free way of updating them. instead of one by one downloading them off of the internet i went and accesd my computer's hardware options and selected the devices. using driver detective i was able to hunt down and update using the auto driver updater(which comes with vista and xp apparently) and used it to search the web for me. i managed to knock down that 14 out of dates to 6 out of dates. 2 of which drivers i cant seem to locate but driver detective says its in the unplugged section so (oh well no big deal). and as for the other 4 (1 of which is the audio driver) windows claims its already updated and when it searches for an update comes out with nothing newer. also one final thing the driver that needed updating aint even realtek's its ATI's, ive searched all over realteks website but there aint nothing there that can replace it. WOW this is the most ive had to type in a forum before.

Check the dxdiag tool again and look under the first sound tab. Does it still show the driver date on the right as 6/22/2007? I have downloaded Realtek drivers for 2009 from their website. I hope you will reconsider getting the drivers from Realtek's website, I would not recommend going with driver updates through Microsoft's Windows Update. Maybe it's getting stuck on the launcher.exe...try running the game from the game's executable. The path for this should be C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Blazing Angels 2 Secret Missions of WWII\Bin. Double click on the BA2.exe to run the game.

If the suggestion above doesn't work, try disabling the Antialiasing and Anisotropic settings within the Catalyst Control Panel. Set any of the ones that say Antialiasing and Anisotropic to the None or OFF option. If the option for OFF or None is not available, set them to Application Controlled.

tried the top suggestion still not working... where do i find catalyst control panel and what in the world do i click on to get to antialiasing and anisotropic settings????

My mistake, I should have said Catalyst Control Center. This can by accessed by right-clicking on your background, you should see it there.

3 problems with this.
1. how do i find antialiasing and anisotropic inside of catalyst control center. 2.dont i need this to be on? 3. I am no computer nerd i have absolutly no idea as to how catalyst works, what its for, and how to undo something such as switching those options off when i turn on blazing angels two on just to find it still does not work. so i suppose i will restate what the actual problem is. its not the graghics its the game all together that fails to work. when i turn it on it show it loading then within two seconds or les of trying to get into the game it stops, shutsdown, and says Blazing angels 2 has stopped working : a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available (which it never does). now if it were a graghics problem it would also affect all other 3d games now wouldnt it? well it doseant. I have 9 games that are by far more trying for a computer to opperate that work without a problem or glitch. Any other suggestions?

Antialiasing and anisotropic filtering is not required to run this or any other game. Having AA and Anisotropic filtering turned on can actually cause a lot of instability with games. Granted, it will help smooth out jagged edges and give a crisper graphical appearance in the game, but it could be causing the issue here in your case. You should be able to find this under the 3D settings area in the Catalyst Control Center. If you didn't try it yet from my previous post, try running the game from the games executable instead of running it through the launcher.

well i checked out the bin thing and it has BA2 but it doseant have .exe at the end and says application and g.....holy **** its working... wow i tried it before and it said it wasnt working but all of a sudden now it does... oh well. XD tanx for the help.
