Hi xxgsnipexx,
First off, make sure you have both patches applied, the 1.01 and the 1.02 patches. The patches can be found at the link below if you don't have them yet. http://www.ubi.com/US/Downloads/Info.aspx?dlId=1579. Be sure that you install the patches in order and only once each. Do not install either one of these patches more than once; it may corrupt the installation if you do so. Before going into the Blazing Angels settings, make sure you recalibrate your joystick in the Game Controls within the Control Panel. You'll need to do this to ensure that Windows and the game will correctly detect your joystick or gamepad. Also, if you have any software that you use for your Saitek, Logitech, Microsoft, or any other joystick software; try changing the settings for the throttle and rotary controls to the halfway position. If you can't find an option to calibrate the joystick or gamepad, you may have to remove any software your controller might have installed to get to this. I've seen a few that will override the option to calibrate your input device. While configuring the joystick in the settings for Blazing Angels, make sure you keep the throttle at the halfway position at all times (You can ignore this if you have a gamepad, unless your gamepad does have a throttle key on it). Also, remap every button in the settings to your joystick, some of the buttons are not automatically set to what your joystick uses. Just to give you an idea of how I have my joystick and/or gamepad is setup, the button configurations that I have are listed below. Controls for the Joystick: Follow Camera: Joy Button 3 Turn Left: Slider Up (I know this looks odd, but the settings doesn't seem to word it correctly; I twisted my joystick left for this action) Turn Right Slider Down (Same thing as Turn Left, but this time I just twisted the joystick right.) Pitch Up: Joy Button 14 Pitch Down: Joy Button 13 Primary Fire: Joy Button 1 Secondary Fire: Joy Button 2 Closest Threat: Joy Button 5 Next Objective: Joy Button 6 Landing Gear: Joy Button 11 Roll Right: Z-Axis Right Roll Left: Z-Axis Left Speed Up: Joy Button 17 Slow Down: Joy Button 18 Controls for the Gamepad: Follow Camera: Joy Button 6 Turn Left: Z Axis Left Turn Right Z Axis Right Pitch Up: Joy Button 14 Pitch Down: Joy Button 13 Primary Fire: Joy Button 8 Secondary Fire: Joy Button 7 Closest Threat: Joy Button 1 Next Objective: Joy Button 2 Landing Gear: Joy Button 5 Roll Right: Slider Down (I know this looks odd, but the settings doesn't seem to word it correctly, I moved the Right Analog stick right for this action.) Roll Left: Slider Up (I know this looks odd, but the settings doesn't seem to word it correctly; I moved the Right Analog stick left for this action.) Speed Up: Joy Button 15 Slow Down: Joy Button 16 This is just what I felt comfortable with; you can change it around as you see fit though, this is just to give you an idea of what it could look like. I have tested it with this setup and it works just fine as well, I have no problems flying the plane. So it may just need some simple "tweaking" of the button configuration in the settings to get it right. Again, keeping the throttle at the halfway position is important to configuring the buttons in the settings if you’re using a joystick. I hope this helps. If you want to know which joystick I have used with these flight sims, I have been using the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and a Saitek P2900 Wireless Pad. |

As long as wer're on the subject,,does anyone know if a Saitek AV8R-01 will work on this game for the PC format? I tried it on the demo and the game didnt recognize the joystick but the computer did.Apparently patches dont work for demos. It said "No version of this game was found" I suspect this was my problem. I need the full PC version to start,, so I have this game on order.
I have read that a lot of people are having trouble with joysticks for this game but I havent heard much at all about demos. Any thoughts on this??? thnx |

Since I don't have that joystick, I can't say for sure if it will work or not. If someone could reply who has used this joystick and can confirm the Saitek AV8R-01 works with Blazing Angels 1.
