I have no sound in the game, probably because it stutters so much it just gives up all the way.

As well as that my sound problems really slow my game down.

Now I know more people have this problem. A very bad solution is just renaming your sound folder, and you won't have any sound at all any more. For me this also prevents the game stutters.

But I want to try to fix the sound problems. Thing is, there's nowhere I can edit the sound settings, like turning off EAX (someone said that would help but how do I do it?). So, how can I fiddle around with the sound, other than just changing volume?
