I tried installing the BA2 patch and it looked to install correctly. Now every time I startup the game it tries to re-install the patch and then claims its already installed....
Thanks |

I have the same problem. Running the PC version with Vista. Have you found a solution yet?

Same problem.
It's a shame UBI soft still releases games with compatibility issues under Vista (Vista RTM was released at the end of 2006!!)! It's probably something about permissions. Technically: The update patch exe gets downloaded into "%Temp%\ubi843B.tmp.exe" directory. Then it auto-runs as admin (correct). Don't know why it finally fails to register that you've alread updated it. There's a problem here... -- Laptop HP Pavilion dv5-1110el, Vista Home Premium (SP1, OEM, x86, Ita), 4GB RAM, GeForce 9600M GT (Forceware 179.04). |

As I supposed
The problem is that "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Blazing Angels 2 Secret Missions of WWII\Support\gu.exe", run as user, can't finally save the "updated-status" after its completion. To workaround this problem simply run "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Blazing Angels 2 Secret Missions of WWII\Support\gu.exe" as Admin (right click and choose 'Run as Admin') ONLY ONCE and exit the game soon after. From now on, since "gu.exe" has been finally able to save the updated-status, the game will always run fine and won't ask you for the same old update again... What a shame Ubi Soft, we need a better support for Vista! Please correct gu.exe (game update tool)! -- Laptop HP Pavilion dv5-1110el, Vista Home Premium (SP1, OEM, x86, Ita), 4GB RAM, GeForce 9600M GT (Forceware 179.04). |
