Hello Nice Person(s) Truce

I have installed and reinstalled 3 times on two different drives/machines to no avail. I get a very brief flash on what may be the update dialog box with the word (Advanced) in the lower left corner the bars in the dialog box fill very quickly and it disappears only to toss up another dialog box which reads;
"Cannot Initialize 3D Engine"

Any assistance you can provide would be most appeciated.

PS. System is Sony Vaio 2x 2.8Ghtz Pent D., 2 GB Ram, Nvidia 8800 GTX with 768MB Video Ram on card any other sys info needed please reply and I would be happy to provide it to you.

I'm not quite sure what causes this. What Windows resolution do you have? The first thing you should try is decrease your resolution from Windows. Set it at 1024x768, for instance (I'm assuming you have it higher than that).

Please let me know if this helped.

Later edit: Additionally, try to change the color quality. If it is set to 16bit, try 32bit.

You've got me a bit stuck here. I thought the resolution/color range change worked for everyone.

I suggest trying other resolutions and color qualities before anything else.

If that just doesn't help, try to delete the BA2 entry in the registries and start the game again. This might help. The registry entry is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ubisoft\BlazingAngels2. I don't advise you to try this if you're not proficient enough at using Windows, though. Editing the registries is quite risky for people with no experience (you can mess up your Windows).

FIX to 3D engine error

I called Ubisoft as well and they gave me the same old armature instructions they have given all of you. Of course I had already tried these and more with no result. Here is what I was able to find. The display setting were not an issue, I went to the missions file (C:\program files\unbisoft\Blazing Angles 2\data\missions) this path might be slightly off as I am not currently on a machine that has the game installed. In the missions folder I noticed that many of the FOLDERS had gone missing. When you first install the game the missions folder has many folders named after countries in Europe. I backed up my mission folder and uninstalled MAKING SURE to select delete saved mission at the end of the uninstall. I assume most people do not do this because like me they do not want to loose the progress they have made. After I allowed it to delete the files the game ran just fine. When I went back and looked at the mission folder there were many more folders than before. So to rap up the mission files are getting corrupted at some time hence the sudden stop in the game function. I tried to restore the files I had backed up however this did not restore my statues in the game, further indicating that this is in fact file corruption issue. So I was not able to restore my game statues however it did fix the game and that is good enough for me.
