i figured with all kinds of joysticks that dont work we should make a list of ones people found that work fully with the game(if there are any) post them here.

Hey Pilot's,.. anybody tried one of these "Game Box" "Flight Stick" controllers on this "PC" game using a adapter...??? Seeing as this "BA GAME" is a "Piss Poor" Port of a Game Box Game...!!!

Saitek Aviator (AV8R) works

Hi guys, I've just purchased and installed this game, but my flightstick or gamepad won't operate it. I've got a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro flightstick and Thrustmaster Digital 3 gamepad. Both work fine with other sims i have, so I'm guessing I need to switch them on in the game options somewhere? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi all. I've had this game since last year and have tinkered with it so many times I've forgotten half of what I've done. Install and uninstall the game, as with patch 1, patch 2. I reinstalled the game and didn't put the second patch in and and the game seems to work better without it FOR ME.
Anyways, this is how i've got my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro configured:
JB1-guns
JB2-camera
JB3-roll L
JB4-roll R
JB5-closest threat
JB6-next objective
JB7- spare
JB8-pause game
JB9-throttle up
JB10-land. gear
JB11-throttle down
JB12-Squad Order 1
On the HUD...
up = button 29-Secondary fire
right = button 30-Squad Order 3
down = button 31-Squad Order 2
left = button 32-Squad Order 4

I don't use the twist axis at all. I've given up on it for now.

I'm enjoying the game with this configuration and intend to keep this way for now. It's not perfect but I'm having fun being cannon fodder until I pass a mission. I'm at the Rabual Raid so far and keep going back to the other missions to try and perfect my flying cos I fly like I just came out of the BCATP ;-).

yea i used to get that too but only if i plugged in the joystick after bootup. THEN unfortunately, the sidewinder had a drink of coke and it died....

Microsoft Force Feedback pro (gameport) does NOT work.

I have Saitek Cyborg 3D gold , It doesn't work. I tried my PC version XBox 360 it doesn't work either.

Miracle of Miracles...my Logitech Attack 3 works like a dream. No problems at all so far. Well except for the jacked up cinematics and poor graphical performance..lol

Well today I bought BA 2 and I'm not so sure that that was a good idea...
Firstly the game does not detect a Logitech Force 3D Pro... secondly, the work around using a third party control emulator, ControlMK, doesn't work either...and that worked for me in BA1.
I could not save the changes I made in the control configuration...in order to use ControlMK.
No sensitivity settings that work!!!!
The mouse sensitivity slider, governed on the mouse wheel, changes back to high sensitivity on its own accord....despite setting that down 20 times!!!!!!!!....the result...just touch the y axis and your plane goes into a full dive or a steep climb...speak about having control of your plane...and u gotta hone onto a target with this kinda control....
I'm speechless!!!!! I spent nearly 2 hours to set up any kind of control and still could not fly...I've spent only about 20 minutes in the air with way too much frustration....diving & climbing, diving & climbing....Bah!!!!
When do I start having fun?
I own every other flight sim on the market so don't think its my system or my stick or my ability

I've never had 2 minutes of trouble of this kind in any other game on earth....oh yes actually I have......BA1!!!!
Unbelievable!!!! But then again I should have known better from past experience!!!

Saitek evo/logitech wingman rumble pad still gets the "error reading key" message.If they gonna rush a game out why not make key configs easier like Battle Stations Midway (BF2 configs are better) till the patch comes out? I also tried CONTROLMK it dont work either.Saitek has a profiler similar to controlmk but same results for this game.


How big of a patch are they making for just the key configs? aka bf2 700mb patch .

p.s when u load the game the autopatch starts, so if u have dial up make sure ur not connected to the net when u start game lol.

And i cant set my games res to 1680x1050 and cant enable shadows either but i can play with the other settings on max with my Sapphire x800GTOagp. 22in monitor.I can run more graphical games than this on high aka stalker,enemy territory quake wars,world conflict,company of heroes2, medival2 kingdoms just to name a few. I just have to upgrade(medal of honor airbonre has 3.0 shading so i have a 40 dollar coaster lmao.)to a HD2600XT agp 512mb 2port dvi-i tv/hdtv out. pci-e has to wait for xmas bonus

Dell USB keyboard as well.
Game patched correctly. 1.01, 1.02.
Tried an old PS2 keyboard, still does not work after complete uninstall and reinstall....

Saitek Cyborg Evo Force works great with BA1, haven't bought BA2.

Saitek evo force works - sort of...
The throttle seems to be backwards (so enter the values backwards in the control map).

Couldn't config the control map til I searched the knowledgebase and found you have to have throttle part way up to get control maping work.

BUT: No sound! This is my first post here, so is this the "sound bug" mentioned above????

Don't think you get force-feedback either, not positive on that yet.

Automatic patch when I ran BA2 today fixed my "no sound" problem!
