It's not your cd-key that is causing the problem.

Sorry - don't understand your help here: what is the key I need to sign in online? The only key I seem to have is the XXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format key printed on the manual (nothing else on the CD or case.... :-(

no caps, but dashes yes. I don't think that's the problem.

it would say "invalid CD-key" or something to that effect.

Have you opened the proper ports in your firewall. Disabling a firewall is not enough, and dangerous, the ports will still be closed.

Regarding the router issue, you cannot connect to an online server unless that server is on a public IP or it has some ports forwarded by the NAT server (you will note the value 999 in the Latency field; if this stays 999 it means that it cannot directly connect to the server).

The ports are: 20001 (used by the ping), 20005, 20050, 20080 and 20100 (all UDP, except 20100, wich is TCP).

The 20005 port is used by the lan game finder system, the others are used to connect and to effectively play the game.

So, in order to accept online connections, the server must have these ports open and be on a public IP (or have these ports forwarded to it).

This is total BS, my friend and I are having the same problem, with the matchmaking server error, we cant even get to the online server menu. Im wondering if Ubisoft took down the servers to force sales of the new HAWX game.. If anyone knows how to get play Blazing Angels online please let me know..
