I just bought the game, and of course there are a few things I wanted to change about the game's default keyboard setup...
So a few of them do change appropriately, but when it comes to changing alternative fire to mouse3, speed up / speed down to mouse 1 / mouse 2, throttle up and throttle down to Y-axis - and Y-axis +.. it shows them as being changed... but as soon as I hit save, and then go back to the control menu, all of those fields are replaced with "?".. This is obviously a big problem, maybe I'm just a moron and I'm not doing something correct but really, it should work as such.. help? :\ |

There was an old bug I thought we fixed relating to the "in-game" menu where nothing really saved or updated.
It shouldn't still be there, but the work-around is to use the Options Menu from the Main Menu area. We'll take a look at it again. It could also be related to what priveleges you have on your computer, you may not have "permissions" to write the config file in the background, just something to check out. |

Well when I'm actually "in-game" and hit ESC, all you can do is *view* the control keys, there is no way to update or change them (which I thought was kind of bad for usability purposes)..
But the main options menu area, yeah that's where I was trying to change them (it's the only place I can apparently).. and it's not a permissions issue, because I can update when it comes to regular keyboard keys.. but when I try to update something like button1, button2, button3, x-axis -/+, y-axis -/+, it won't save them. It *does* recognize my mouse, but for some reason it replaces them with "?" after I hit save and go back. |

Hah.... So I submitted this issue as stated in the first post of this thread to their support system.. After 3 days I got this response (btw, they say a response is usually received within 24 hours)..
"gary, Unfortunately we don't have detailed information on how to configure each controller model to work with the game, since there are literally hundreds of models. However, try installing the patch from http://support.ubi.com. If you continue to have this problem, I highly recommend you ask this question on the forums at http://forums.ubi.com. The developer, as well as many other users frequent these forums and I'm sure can give you detailed instructions on how to resolve this matter. Thank you." Let's deconstruct this... #1 - So an ordinary mouse is deemed as a controller? Ok then, I find it very interesting I have absolutely no problems with it in any other game.. #2 - Download the patch? There's a patch available for BA2 already eh? Well, I looked. NO. #3 - That's what I did already, I've gotten 0 help. Anyone looking into buying this game, don't do it. It's obviously just a rushed POS. Never again. |

I have a similar problem. If I quit the game and then go back in the controls for my joystick are all reset to "?" in the game. It does not matter if I leave my joystick plugged in or not, it always happens.

I can't rebind my mouse x axis to the roll controls. I need to do this because in simulation mode, roll and turn (yaw) are reversed!? This means the default controls make my plane roll if I move the mouse side to side.
