this is a simple to follow guide
1. plug in joystick 2. go to control panel and open the game controller icon 3.add ur controller if windows hasnt already found it 4.click on ur controller and click properties 5. open the settings tab and callibate controller 6.open the Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII Settings 7.open the player 1# and go to the bottom and select 'USE JOYSTICK' 8.Configure/choose buttons and controls to suit your joystick and your needs 9.If your Joystick doesnt have right amount of buttons KeyBoard still works co-operativaly with joystick NOTE: Windows XP Only (only tested this on it so far) Have to Calibrate with windows other wise plane will be un-controllerable. HOPE DIS HELPS (worked for me) |

Yes, I have always had a problem with joysticks in every game. I had to assign each and every joystick button in the list. When I moved the stick, supposed to be the x and y axis, I got the response from the game that is was button 13 and 14 instead of pitch up and down. Yes, the porting job is lousy. I have played many games, and even used to fly myself in "real planes" and never found a game that was very well done. The best I had was "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe". It put you into the cockpit with ALL the gauges in it. In this game you have no clue where North and South is, what altitude you are flying, what speed you are going, how many rpms, how much fuel or anything.
I should think that Ubisoft would be embarassed about this game, I like so many of their games. They have done such a great job on the other games. I will continue to look for that replacement for "Secret Weapons..." I hope this helps with joystick problems, just review and redo the assignments by pressing the joystick buttons or moving the stick. You have to select the command to assign, press the right hand joystick button on the screen (use selected joystick?)and then press the button on the joystick itself or move the stick. For the throttle slide, you MUST have it in the middle, or it will assign it to every one of the commands. To assign this button, move it forward or back only after you select the command and press the menu button on the screen. Put it back to the middle afterward or it will recognize that "button" every time you want to change an assignment. |
