I am having a problem getting my controllers to work with this game. I have tried both my Logitech Cordless Rumbledpad 2 and a CH Products 568 Combatstick and neither one of them are recognized by the game. I am unable to map any controls under the alternate controls or game controllers section, and none of the buttons do anything in the menus either. I am running WinXP SP2 with the most recent version of DX. Any ideas to get things working? I have tried like others suggested unplugging and plugging in the controllers before the game as well as using different USB plugs on my case and monitor hub.

Why can't games just work out of the box anymore?

Just fired the game up again and tried playing it with the mouse. For the of me, I can't figure out how to turn off the autocenter feature when using a mouse controller. Where is this found? It is very difficult to fly with this enabled.

Game graphics look great however and run smooth as silk at 1920x1200 with 4xAA and everything maxed on my 8800GTX. Its just too bad I can't get any my controllers to work properly.

Having a similar problem like yours. my saitek evo, doesnt get regognized . i get this text > error reading key. i click save keyboard key config but it dont save ,i still get the ? mark ,and you cant even change the controls in-game. its like playing baseball with no bat. ouch err flight stick.

yeah the graphics are nice,im running it on max, but wierd it doesnt let me enjoy my 22in 1680x1050,only up to 1152x864 .my first time playing @ theis res. also i cant enable shadows, either. this will be a nice screen saver till the patch comes out.

so much for being #2 in pc software

There is an odd problem where some gamepads and joysticks are not seen by the game if the user has certain types of USB keyboards. For instance, Saitek keyboards seem to be conflicting with Logitech USB keyboards.

This will be fixed in the upcoming patch.

I tried using a logitech wingman rumblepad and still getting error reading key message. BA2 is the 3rd program i have installed on my freshly re-formatted HD Smash . I was tickled when in the user manual they have a GAME DEVICE SUPPORT section. maybey they should have waited till they fix the kinks before releasing the game.

this will be a nice screen saver till the patch comes out.

Salamidoc, I am running the same mouse / keyboard combo as you. I have a G5 mouse and an older Fujitsu keyboard.

For whats its worth, I was able to take my game back to Future Shop for a refund. At first they wouldn't let me return the game because it was opened, but I made enough of the scene about the game not working out of the box that they let me exchange it for another game. Smile

Anywhoo - I'm off to install Lost Planet now...
