Hey ya guys, im testing something that is working like a charm to come arround the problem with the joystick conf:
is a program called CONTROLMK,what does this little freebie software does?
simply its translates your joysticks imputs to keystrokes , so in this case it tells our game that we´re using the keyboard Hammer
all you have to do is asing the joystick funcion to a key:

joy button 0---->spacebar (primary fire)

and so on!!!
so all you need to do is leave the program open while you play an that it!!!
you can dowload it from ---->here!

also you can save the profile,i got mine, later on i will upload it for you guys

Your post is similar to my earlier post about those owners of Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox Pro 2 Joysticks. Thrustmaster supplies a software download that allows you to reconfigure your games keyboard keys to joystick control. This software is called ( Thrustmapper 4.02 ) and I've been enjoying the use of my joystick ever since. You have to read the instuctions though and direct the software to look at the BA's settings exe. file. Once this is done, you can set the BA's keyboard strokes to your joystick settings. IE: Fire button #1 to trigger, secondary fire button to #2 button, etc. It is possible but I believe everyone has lost interest by now. Maybe the Forum Directors will pick up your solution and those that own Thrustmaster will see mine. One final note with whatever software you use, ( YOU MUST SAVE YOUR SETTINGS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS OVER AGAIN )! It will retain them.

wow FINALLY!!!!!!
Yep!!!! This works 100%!!!I set mine to match default 2 settings...ie: mouse settings...
godda change a few things like repeat on throttle to maximum...otherwise u'll be too slow to do repair commands.
also doesn't pick up insert, delete, page up or page down....so change those to match default 1 inside BA....then voila!!!! Its great to have a sensitive stick....u can ace it all the way....still wonder how ubi could've cocked this one up....but still its a great game !!!! I'll probalby even buy BA 2 I'm enjoying this so much!!!

They are right, it does seem to work. Works with my old MS sidewinder 3d Pro Plus stick. It's a little tricky to setup.

And it only took 18 months for "some one" to find a fix. Maybe Ubisoft should hire the guy who made "controlMK" before they release BA 2 Wink

Do you map Y axis and X axis to mouse movements in order to get a nice and smooth / precision joystick control ?

Map Y axis of your joystick to mouse_move_Y
and similar for the X axis.

Actually, it is not a fix. It's 3rd party software that emulates the keyboard through your joystick(s). It may or may not work for you but it clearly shows the shortcoming of this game as well as the complete inability of the developers to progam for the PC ( after all it is their 2nd attempt and still they couldn't get the sticks to work right). I am glad you found a 3rd party progam that compensates for UBI's developers shortcomings, lack of PC experience and inability to fix the games (BA 1 and 2).

The forums sure saved me from another costly mistake this time.

Hi guys,

Right I have had huge issues with BA1 & BA2...untill I bought a new PC and all problems got solved...how I dunno...same joysticks everything.
But....!!! I made sure that all my windows updates were done...critical and optional!! Suddenly everything seemed to work well...makes a bit of sense doesn't it...its a ported game...to work on an optimal windows platform...maybe the NETFramework has something to do with it...who knows.

Give it a try...if that fails then here is the reference to the joy to key thingy:

Hope this works for you guys.

Good hunting

Just ensure that you have done all your windows updates, both critical and optional. I found that by doing this my joysticks picked up correctly and functioned without any dead zones.

I am not advocating a new PC and with a bit of luck this entry would not be deleted and you may get what I am trying to say.

Good Hunting
