LONDON, UK – May 27, 2009 – Today Ubisoft® announced that it is collaborating again with Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White in Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage. Developed by Ubisoft Montréal, the game will be available exclusively for the Wii™ system from Nintendo and will be on store shelves holiday 2009.

“Working with Shaun on the first title was an excellent experience,” said Antoine Guignard, producer of Shaun White Snowboarding : World Stage at Ubisoft. “The great public reception of Shaun White Snowboarding and the wonderful collaboration with Shaun made it a slam dunk for us to reunite to create a fun, new adventure for fans.”

Players will hit the slopes with Shaun White and his crew, but this time the stakes are higher as you pursue the world’s top competitions from a half-pipe in the middle of New York’s Time Square to the most prestigious competitions of France, Canada and Japan.

“Ubisoft has been a great partner, and I'm excited for World Stage,” said action sports phenom Shaun White. “It's cool to give people insight on what my life is like on the competition circuit.”

Shaun White Snowboarding was a worldwide success for Ubisoft, selling over 3 million copies since its November 2008 launch and establishing a new sports brand for Ubisoft. The title was also one of the first and most popular video games compatible with the Wii Balance Board™ accessory. Players will be able to break out their Balance Boards once again for Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage when they flex their board skills either alone or together with family and friends.

Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage will be showcased at the Ubisoft press conference during E3 at the Los Angeles Theater on June 1st at 5 p.m. Visitors can hit the powder, as well, at the Ubisoft booth on the show floor (South Hall, Booth #1022).

so what are you telling those of us who have traditional consoles (xbox360, ps3) and would like a SWS2? Are you developing solely for Wii going forward?

Ahem...what he said. PLEASE ANSWER HIM!! If that is the case I know a game competitor that's already planning to come out with another version of Sto..(cough..cough)ked, which puts SWS behind the 8 ball Razz

Wii Exclusive, so nothing has been mentioned about 360 or PS3.

Oh, thanks for coming back Rebel4Liberty, just to advertise Stoked. Wink2

LOL So Ubisoft has nothing in the way of another SWS for 360 and PS3? I don't need to "advertise" but I'm not happy that a game started multi-platform is going all exclusive. I've seen the game play..AWFUL!! So you make 1 game for the 360 and PS3 then call it quits to go exclusive with Woo Wii...this won't sit well I can garruntee that. Your in effect shafting your 360 and PS3 fans and 360 gamers will have to turn to the next version Stoked for alternative with no second SWS coming for these systems. I can see PS3 players being the angriest since they will have NOTHING at all! I had hope SWS could be improved as well, but it sounds like there are no plans for this. We get the short end of the stick! Mad

I predict this world tour will FAIL and FLOP!

Hi, I'm back too. Good to see Rebel4Liberty is still around here.

I haven't played Stoked actually, neither did I play Shaun White Snowboarding on my Xbox 360. I however did play Road Trip on the Wii. It was not the best snowboard game ever, but entertaining nonetheless.
I just ditched the idea of buying SWSB when those aweful videos came out. Crappy motion, no real style and over the top riding just aren't my things. We needed a realistic snowboard game, but we didn't got one. MEH.

Want one too? PM me. (I mean signatures, no game copies :P)

AMEN Tharduz!!! I wonder when they will get it! I wonder when they will figure out to COMPETE with Stoked they are going to need to take a page out of Amped 2 and go in that direction instead...

This current direction was rejected by many realist such as myself and this next one looks to be a disaster instead of getting better. Unless they change direction and don't exclude 360,PS3 and PC users, world stage will probably be the end of SWSB's run! We proved that Amped 3 FAILED and does not work. Sure it appealed to SSX fans, but ultimately was not embraced.

We expected SWSB to be a new Amped game and not like Amped 3/SSX but that's not what they planned on doing and went for the ARCADE type... Its crap! Amped 3 couldn't copy SSX and neither is SWSB going to. Stop trying to follow EA's SSX model!! Only EA knows how to do that type of game well, even though I hate it and is insult to the sport.

Ubi has one of two choices, listen to what fans are saying and take this realistic or this title franchise is going to BOMB HARD and blow up in your face. Real snowboarding fans are NOT going to spend their money for this crap, do you understand this!! Mad Angry Blue Guy

i guess you never saw the difference in sales over the platforms last year. as the wii game is an entirely different game it's not really a multi-plat either.

the wii game sold over a million last year, nice try tho.

also the game play in SW:RT was epic. hands down the best playing snowboard game ever thanks to the wonderful balance board. the game play is actually very realistic.

nice job ubi on taking the time to give wii an exclusive game instead of a watered down port! it's nice that someone actually treats the wii right.

LOL I know the RT was popular, but for those who want the ARCADE snowboarding game. I have a Wii and will not even try RT as I can see what it is. I don't think you realize there is a large camp that rejects the "arcade" style. We do not want games with Shaun White riding beside you to give you special snowboarding power up skills...UGH!!! (where is the puke smiley when you need it) Fine, you may like it and many other too, but its FAR from reppin snowboarding with respect. A cartoon kiddie game is all it is. Plenty of brats with cash in hand for it I am sure, and plenty of real snowboarders and sim fans that will look upon it with disgust as a mockery...

honestly the game on a balance board plays remarkably realistic. I spent '97 to '06 in Alaska hitting pow day after day. the turning in this game feels fantastic as does the "pump" motion you need to get big air off of a tranny.

power-ups can be lame but is only one power up you need.. that's the one that increases your score (i think it's 10%) while active. this brings the skill of keeping your power-up active necessary to pull off high scores. the other power up are lame. you don't see the guy giving you the power up as he is holding the camera. so basically it's like an added combo meter.

While I can relate to you missing out on a new iteration of the game it's a rare day when wii gets an un-ported and basically (opinion here) better game. for that ubi gets props. usually the shoe is on the other foot and the wii gets shafted.

honestly SW:RT and the balance board is worth trying. without the board I'd pass on the game.

Well, I got the title today.. I'll be home from work playing in a few hours Smile

I think this is a fair statement, and understand what your saying in regards to Wii getting its own title this time. I still think saying nothing about a "future" PS3, 360 and PC SWSB 2 is a mistake. Those in my camp, we will reject it if its NOT done right, if they do another. So make sure you do it right Ubi or just don't bother wasting the time and money....
