Ok,I have read so many posts on this forum with so much technical language,that I haven't got a clue what you veterans of the game are talking about half the time,but I am amused at some of the terms used,so I thought I would share with you the meanings of some of the terms and words used as I thought they meant!(just a bit of a giggle!)
1)THREAD..something I use to darn my husbands socks with(ok,that last bit is a lie!)
2)PING..when accompanied by the word "pong",its the commoners description of table tennis.
3)MERC..a swish car that you really shouldn't fire rocket launchers at.
4)PATCH..another sewing term,or a cutesie name for a puppy.
5)FATBOY..a rather derogatory term for a young fellow who has perhaps indulged too much in,say,pizza for example.
6)CO-OP..a local supermarket where one can purchase everyday necessary items.
7)SPOILER..a metal object that young boy racers fit to the back of their cars to soup them up.

I am sure the subtle and not so subtle differences between the Queen's English and the American version can produce other homonyms and double entendres.
