Try Men Of Valor: Vietnam. It was developed by the MOHAA team, and
is in that tradition, but more. MOV is honestly the first attempt in any game to create the "culture" of the Vietnam conflict. You have a dialog with the game like nothing else I've ever played. Even better .. it is not a squad game ... and the keybd is not stupid like BF: Vietnam. "Lean" in the game is actually superior to any other setup I've ever tried. Best of all, the game is intelligent. It rises above CoD2 in that respect. It is more than a shooter in that it honestly tries to document the Vietnam conflict from all sides. I just finished a segment where I had to escort an actor and his cameraman through a VC village where we were attacked by VC including females. The team leader was so angry that we burned the village, and then we were lucky to survive an ambush at the pickup point while waiting for a chopper to come. After we got out, the cutscene was a news report back in the USA showing films of us burning the village .. the homes of women and children who we had shot down ... while rescuing these two ba_tards. My role is a Black Marine who is doing OK, but I keep getting letters from Mom and Dad saying that my brother just graduated from High School and can't find a job. Got in trouble with the cops last week, and got arrested. They don't like the sorry bunch he hangs with. He's joining up, and they want me to watch for him when he gets to Vietnam. Meantime, my team leader went beserk, and ordered us up a hill to support squads who are trapped up there. I've started up, but our artillary is dropping shells right in on our position. Every other word is "FU" and worse ..... good GAME ?? |
