I really liked FarCry not only becuz of the nice setting but also its realism.
My question is there any other shooter that i will like with the taste that of FarCry, maybe FEAR or Starshiptroopers? |

FEAR was good, but very different. You certainly will not get a great environment with FEAR.
If you want environment, I have to say Half-Life 2. If you want realism and combat, Call of Duty 2. If you want outstanding graphics, and want to blow everything up, Quake 4. But personally, I preferred Republic Commando to all of them. It had real good feel about it. |

OPeration Flashpoint. it's quite old but I have heard good things about it

Besides the story, would u say that FEAR has the same realism degree as FarCry had? |

The AI is the best I have seen yet if that is what you mean. The combat scenes are very intense. Smoke, and pieces of desk and people fly everywhere. It's very good. I would say it seems about as realistic as Far Cry. But if realism is what you want, with intense battles, and great visuals, like I said, Call of Duty 2.

Call of Duty feels like "Serious Sam goes World War 2" with those masses of jerrys thrown at you.
It certainly is a fun game if you like furious action, but it isn´t realistic at all. If you are searching for a realistic multiplayer shooter experience you should check out Red Orchestra: Ostfront. http://www.redorchestragame.com/ It was a very successful modification of UT2004 and it is supposed to go retail soon. The retail version is similar to the mod version but it runs on a newer engine, looks better, has more features, runs smoother ect. However there is no demo available up to now. But you download the mod version here: http://redorchestra.clanservers.com/ If you like it, you will certainly like the retail game too. If you are searching for a good singleplayergame I can reccomend No one lives forever 2. It is a great sequel to the original game which I enjoyed even more. But the graphics of the old one are outdated today. The goal of "Nolf" is to deliver a funny spyadventure. Nolf1 was a parody of James Bond movies starting at the fact, that you are a female agent leading to absurd situations at times. Nolf2 wants to take it further and exaggerates it a bit, if you ask me. Sometimes it is even too "funny" so it seems dumb sometimes. But the game is great none the less. Your character (a good looking female agent named Cate Archer) gets experience points you can spend to enhanche certain abilitys of her, such as stealth, armor ect. By doing so you can specialize on certain aspects of the game. If you want to run through gun blazing you can invest those points in armor, or health and if you want to sneak past enemys or drop them with silenced headshots you can invest them in stealh or weapon efficiency and so on. It shouldn´t cost more than 10€/$ anyway so you can´t go too wrong with it. It is certainly worth a try. |

Thanks for the reconmedations but i already played both NOLF games, and second game was despite fun gameplay also annoying becuz of the reswpans of enemies just like in call of duty 2. I really hate that in shooters. But i quess ill go with FEAR.

I disagree with everything you said. He said realistic, and you suggest NOLF 2?

To call a video game realistic is kind of stupid don't you think? I mean in real life you don't get to start again from the save point.

IMH, the best FPS ever is Deus Ex. Doesn't quite fit your requirements in an FPS, but is amazing. Runs off of the original Unreal Tournament engine, so I can guarantee your PC will run it. Plus, by now it's cheap.

That was amazing... the Marble floor in the UNATCO HQ entrance hall took my breath away!
I was a bit dissapointed with the sequel tho' "Deus Ex-Invisible War" it seemed like technology stood still for the devs... CuZ |

If you saw early alhpa or beta screenshots, the game was going to be amazing. But the moment that they announced that they were releasing an XBox version happened, all plans for the amazing PC version were ditched, and we just got a copy of the XBox version (buggy too, I might add). You can even find some parts of the old game they way it was supposed to be, by browsing the game folder and looking at the textures. You'll notice things like many more grenades, as well as the huge spider bot (in the game, there were only the little ones).
It was another case of sequel-gone-wrong. |

Thats a real shame...
As well as the lack of technical advancement it also seemed more linear than the original... Its says a lot for the original, and my obsession with FC that Invisible war is the only other game I have played in the last 12 months... I guess I should try out the likes of FEAR & HL2.... Nah... I think I will wait for Crysis... CuZ |

I don't know if I should say it, but I never actually played Far Cry... only the demo :S

Burn the witch!
I haven´t tried F.E.A.R. yet since it won´t run on my pc, but halflife² is a fun game. The beginning is nice and lets you expect a great story because the setting is such a depressing future vision. Well, the story turns out to be of the typical ego-shooter breed but the settings remains cool and the gameplay is fast and fun. I disliked the parts of the game where you had to steer vehicles though. It felt kinda constructed. In Far cry or Halo you take a vehicle for support and because you can/like. In Halflife you take a vehicle because you are in the "vehicle level". Other than those parts I really enjoyed the game. I can reccommend it. Although it may not be the longest game it is pretty intense and it isn´t too short either. Ah. I wish crysis would run on my pc. Even if the gameplay is as mediocre as far crys (sorry, no offense, its just a matter of taste!) the setting alone will be worth it (just like far cry). |

Have to agree with Napalm Frosch, Deus Ex is the best FPS (or any other type of game) ever. Not realistic of course, but in terms of being open-ended and immersive, it takes some beating.

FEAR!!
kicks HL2's ***. AI is better. no stuttering. loads quickly. spooky. fun. mp is kind of boring though. takes longer to play. and IMHO story was more enjoyable(maybe not better) than HL2 Farcry was funner in the sense that you could go wherever you wanted. and MP in Farcry has assault which i love. but FEAR is scarier and more intense. but farcry is just so much fun. later frodo later frodo ------------- From this day to the ending of the world, but we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. |

I'm not sure if it tastes like FarCry but Soldier of Fortune has at least 32 different places you can shoot someone :P
