It's being developed by Techland, not Ubisoft Montreal.

You really expect Ubisoft to not publish any games in 2009?
Besides, who is actually developing this game? Is it Ubisoft Montreal? I already know the answer to this one... |

Looks like the Dunia Engine.
I hate Ubisoft's interpretation of the Dunia Engine (I like the engine otherwise) Ubisoft is developing Call of Juarez Prequel THEREFORE: I won't like Call of Juarez Prequel. Nor will I chip in any more $$ for Ubisoft games. -+-+_ |

Are you people all stupid or dyslexic or something? This game is being developed by TECHLAND, the makers of the original Call of Juarez, NOT Ubisoft. And most likely they are using Techland's engine from the original Call of Juarez, NOT the Dunia engine.
Again, Ubisoft is only PUBLISHING this game. Like how EA publishes Orange Box and Left 4 Dead. |

My bad. I meant to use a Mass Effect analogy. See, Mass Effect was developed by BioWare Inc. but was published by E.A.
Don't get me wrong. Mass Effect has advanced far beyond predecessor titles by BioWare like KOTOR and Jade Empire. But on a technical level, Mass Effect has so many bugs that url=http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=631883&forum=127people even comment on wanting to have pirated the game rather than have bought it.[/url] Mass Effect turned out to have more bugs than any previous BioWare title. Just go over to the official Mass Effect forums to see what I mean, and then compare it to the type of posts in older BioWare games like KOTOR II or Jade Empire. Mass Effect wasn't developed by E.A., but was published by them. Take a look at this Securom garbage that FORCED gamers to manually install the game, and even then, there was no guarentee that it'll work. Mass Effect doesn't have the technical bugs from previous BioWare titles. Now WHAT does this all have to do with Call of Juarez? Well, I meant to say earlier that because Ubisoft is publishing the game, there are going to be inexplicable technical bugs that probably wouldn't have happened if Techland developed the game solely and published the game solely or through a trusty, honest publishing partner. But publishing through Ubisoft is like publishing through E.A. : You get a rushed, half-[butt]ed product with patches that try to correct problems but just introduce more bugs. And a BIG LACK of Q.A. testing. -+-+_ |

hahhahahahahhahahhaha...tell me this is a joke....did anyone visit the forum of COJ...the develop a game and never patch it.. The are players that have been complaining for a patch since 06 and techland never response...does this give you a hint for the second comming? Get real techland/ubi......this has to be a joke...
Support your games and maybe the fan will show you some support by letting you have some of their hard earn cash. OK, I give up with developers in todays gaming industry. Raven Soft, make me happy with a good "WOLFENSTEIN" MP side. |

I don't care who makes it, it should be the publisher's responsibility to NOT sell crap. I'm renting before buying anything published by Ubi regardless of developer. I've been doing this with EA since their xbox titles were sucking so bad (the Orange Box was published by valve for 360) because the rest was ****e).
I guess your best wasn't good enough! |

Why was this even posted in a Far Cry 2 forum? It not only has nothing to do with Far Cry 2, the OP makes no intelligent comparisons between the two games whatsoever. Instead he uses it to try and tear down Far Cry 2 in a ridiculous and vague way.
Furthermore, it's not likely Ubi will have anything to do with development, be it in the scripting or engine used. It's a prequel, that means it should have the same look and feel of the original, and Techland already has a good base to work from. |
