This game is being called by many a cross between Far Cry and GTA. It's certainly not as good as Far Cry but I feel better than GTA and does have some striking graphic similarities to Far Cry.
It's not by any means a tactical shooter like Far Cry and the stunt action is very over the top, but the free falling, parachuting, and aircraft flying can be rather exhilarating.
There are definitely arcadish tendencies to it but it packs enough fun and originality to have sold over a million copies and word is they're working on part 2.
This is the first title for Avalanche of Sweden, so I give them some leeway on my review, but it's not bad for a first title. Getting it for only $20 was all the sweeter, though I don't think I'd want to pay much more for this title.
