Hello everyone...

I bought FC about a week ago .. I know, I know, why did I wait so long? It's amazing. simply amazing.

But I'm one of those that waits for new games to become inexpensive - and I found a deal about which I would like advice.

I found a $10 copy of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.

not that $10 is anything to worry about, but I don't want to buy a game that isn't any good/fun - even if it IS dirt cheap.

so - the advice - who's played MoH:AA?

thoughts on it?

I haven't tried AA, but I did try the PA campaign. All squad based, old style weapons, ect... I still have it loaded, but I've never finished it. It just wasn't fun...

If you do decide to give it a try, here's a list of goodies to use in the game...

wuss- all weapons and ammo
noclip- noclipping(you can go through walls)
notarget- invisibility

list inventory- lists your inventory
kill- you commit suicide
gameversion- shows game version
toggle cg_3rd_person- 3rd person view
maplist- generates a list of maps
map [map name]- warp to level(see lists)
giveweapon weapons/(weapon name).tik- spawns indicated weapon (see lists)

I've always been a fan of WWII games - but I'm just concerned that it will look like ****... I mean FC looks good on my computer, so it wouldn't be issues on my end - but i seem to remember a console version of MoH my friend rented and it really looked awful... the enemies looked like cardboard cutouts - jagged edges on everything, etc...

do you think that would have been a function of the game itself, or more of a function of being on a (comparitively speaking) powerless console?

I don't know much about consoles, never owned one. They don't have the specs a PC has, (at least the currrent generation, the 360 an PS3 look interesting) but they do a decent job with what they have.

I just loaded MOH:PA and looked at it. It's no Far Cry, that's for sure. But it's not to bad graphically, and in fact it's quite good.

If you like this type of gameplay, for 10 bucks I say buy it...

thanks for the advice - I think for $10 I'm going to pick it up... as long the baddies don't look like jagged cardboard cutouts and the gameplay isn't horrific, I'll probably enjoy it...

but i certainly won't even be cracking it open till I finish FC.

the gf is out of town for the weekend, so some serious FC cracking-out is on tap.

Nothin that much wrong with medal of honour.10 buck's for 2 hour's entertainment isn't so bad. Might not want to play it much after that when farcry is around.

on a related note, have either of you played any of the Call of Duty series?

recommend or no?
