You can play it as a FPS as well if you want(don't press the PC's V button). Not normally my cup of tea RPG's but I really like this one very immersive and U get the FPS element as well a game that earn't it's 10/10!

It's like a STALKER, BIOSHOCK, HALF LIFE 2 crossover with humor I'm loving at after this Sack of Ship (FC2)

+1 to that!

I really like listening to the Galaxy News Radio station over the radio, lots of mid 50s songs, so great, reminds me of BioShock alot.

I didnt think it was an FPS

I know you can play it from the 1st person perspective.

But isnt combat an RPG based system where you choose what elements on the enemy to attack?

Only if you want to it's like a selective shot screen where you choose to place your shots (I only use for Bosses). Other wise it's a plain old FPS with multiple missions (running concurrently) that are exceptionally diverse and immersive gets a 9/10 from me on par with Half Life 2 and I only play FPS. It's added a new twist to the FPS

BTW FC2 gets 9/10 for 5 mins then a 7.5/10 for the next 20 mins then this slides to a 2.5/10 after that and I'm being generous with the latter.

I've been switching between the Left 4 Dead demo and Fallout 3. Both games are really fun to play for multiplayer co-op and singleplayer respectively.

Left 4 Dead = Awesome co-op and really fun on extreme difficulty (even though it's pretty impossible to beat) wave after wave after wave of fast running infected and bosses everywhere, its absolute mayhem!
Fallout 3 = Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with guns and much much more improved graphics and super-details on everything. Its great how it lets you play it as either turn-based or real-time. You can play 1st-person or 3rd-person over-the-shoulder. I'm really excited about how moddable the game will be since its based on the Oblivion engine and will most likely see a modder's kit for it (since the load screen has a data mod file selection menu)! Story, dialog, characters, enemy AI, awesome open world make this game a 20/10 if Far Cry 2 (unpatched) is an 8.5/10 game.

If the developers only put more effort into the PC version of FC2, it could've been on par with these games. Too bad for them, the cash boat has already left the harbour and they're never going to revive the Far Cry 2 modding community, let alone the multiplayer community.

GJ Ubisoft... I bet whoever is the project lead for Ubisoft Montreal will most likely get canned or demoted. Maybe I should apply to there and take over? hahahaha

if you rely solely on the VATS system. i pretty much shunned the vats except for major gunfights, I really like the fact that you could choose how to ploay it. Sure, the FPS gunplay and movement could have used just a little tweaking, bvut man that game was great!

Ahahahaha!!

I thought at first the post was about giant bugs, soft ware glitches... XD Then I realised it was about things like ants and RADROACHES. (Rad for Radiation I'm very confident in assuming.)

But as far as far cry 2 goes in comparing it to Fallout 3, I have only one complaint for Fallout... WHY, THE HECK, DON'T HEAD SHOTS KILL?! Yes, my RPG character has low gun skill, but I as an FPS GAMER, HAVE HIGH SKILL!! And besides, I still hit them in the head, it's not like I am and miss all that often... and they just don't die? What the deuce... I just go about explaining to myself that they are consistantly "grazing flesh wounds" and that I'm not actually pounding lead into their forheads, even though I am... For realism sakes, I pretend I suck at aiming. =(
