I am and I'm hoping it will be the great Multi- Player game that I had always hoped FarCry would become.

I was an avid FarCry guy but got tired of the hassles of constant log-ins, flakey netcode, Servers with castrated weapons, weak support etc.

Lately, I've been playing BF2 and most recently BF-2142 and have been really enjoying it. However, I still crave the awesome jungle enviroments and the reflective tell-tales of FarCry.

I feel cautiously optimistic about CRYSIS and hope this one kicks some butt and earns a large following. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I will be buying Crysis.
I actually like FC 1.4 better than 1.33 but my clan will be moving to Crysis when it comes out.

i will buy it too. goes without saying. priority grade 1. as for 1.4 when i am playing online i dont see the onscreen banter that people chat i have to press options and read there. and type in the box. nothing comes onscreen when i play. also as i said no one can see my server. thats annoying because at one time my server was number one in splatterladder ratings. im telekon by the way.

I'll likely get it after I replace my current PC, which will be somewhere near the end of '07. I can't see buying a Vista based DX10 system until the prices drop and bugs are worked out, maybe even after the first Vista sp. I also can't see playing Crysis on my existing system for months then finally playing it on DX10 equipment after much of the thrill is already gone.

To be honest though, I'm not sure I like that they worked all that alien stuff into the story, should have just made a Far Cry 2 IMO.

Let's hope EA supports the game properly. I was shocked to see FarCry dumped by punkbuster, I play several older games that still enjoy punkbuster support. I think it's a crime that FarCry slid into such a sad state when it has such huge promise. They should have kept tweaking and improving it. We should be playing FarCry #3 by now! Blink

i agree with you 100% the sad thing for me is that ubisoft seem to have turned a blind eye to farcry and decided to jazz it up by brushing the original into the trashcan and bringing out crysis. with no explanation as to why they dumped the game and its many followers around the world.perhaps if they were to take more of an interest as to exactly how many gameplayers stayed loyal to the original and still do, maybe they would consider a different approach.
i believe in democracy, whereas just going full steam ahead with crysis without so much as asking the communities and players what our thoughts are is a trifle inconsiderate and dare i say bombastic. i could go on for hours but i think the "farcry" faithful know where im coming from on this subject !
TELEKON.

Exactly! An award winning game deserved better!

Ubi is not "bringing out crysis", Crysis is being marketed by EA. Personally I feel the abandonment is mostly Crytek's doings. They are the creators of Far Cry and the ones whom ultimately could have made another or 3 by now as mentioned. Somehow I think they'll be eating crow if Crysis does not make as big a splash as anticipated.

While Crytek walked away from UBI, you know they never walked away from Far Cry, with support being provided to this day on CryMod.

How many other games recieve additional patches with new content (Admitedly MP only unless you count the unfortunate seethrough textures issue) 2 and a half years after its release?

And now almost 3 years since then, what have we seen for the PC game from the publisher? Indifferent
Yeah I know Im a self confessed Crytek Fanboi and I make no apologies for it, hopefully UBI will redress the balance now that they have acquired the full rights for FC, who knows...

Oh yeah, as if I need to answer, yes I will happily take possession of a copy of Crysis...

I need it to play OE2 Too Happy

I meant abandonment in the sense that they chose not to continue making installments of Far Cry, which still baffles most people fanatic about the game as am I. Perhaps poor wording on my part. To me it's like an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" thing. Why experiment with a new project when you know you have a famously popular one you can continue with, at least for one more installment anyway?

That said thank God so many great mappers and modders have taken it upon themselves to help perpetuate this great game despite such fate. Can you imagine though how many emails Crytek must have recieved from people with such technical skills and fans as well asking them to continue the project when they heard the rumors of it ending?

I agree with Six_Gun I would have happily stepped up and bought new versions of FarCry if they had done it like say ... Unreal Tournament. I happily pulled out my wallet for their new versions and improvements. I like FarCry a lot and it could easily stand as my favorite if some of the annoyances were eliminated.
