Try reading some books....
recommendable (realistic written, compared to most American books) Cris Ryan, Andy mc Nab, Cameron Spence,and so on....

For infantry tactics? FM 7-8. I think you can find it on army.mil somewhere.

Navy SAR... I have almost given up on this game (GRAW) because of cheating, lack of teamwork, lack of integrity, spawn camping (granted part of this issue is poor map design)... no one will play new maps because they are too scary and big... it's harder to memorize the maps. Guys play like their rank equals the size of their $%*@. I guess somethings has to make up for that. I guess I am just too new to online play, but I didn't realize how many #%@*& we had in this country. Sorry, I'm done.

The top pic looks like the Habu hanger area. That's a KC-135 Tanker off to the right. But I can't imagine the Habu area would be visible.

The bottom pic looks kinda like the Navy side of Kadena. CSC Post 4 is to the right of that pic.. My avatar was taken at P#4 during a "recall"..

I took the one shot from the terminal cafeteria where we all get (or got off) the Freedom Bird. I used to sit on a knoll overlooking the runway and right into the habu hanger and yes that is what it is. I have a slightly better pic of it from across the runway. Funny thing is, we were on the rock at the same time. If you had caught me taking pics, you would have confiscated my film.

I have some real fond memories of Kadena. It was one of those assignments that you never really appreciated until you left. Vandenberg was so boring compared to Kadena.

I was with H&MS-36 on Futema (down the road on 58). I liked to come up to Kadena to take pics. I hung out on BC Street a lot. Sgt. Peppers. Also Condition Green's club (I don't remember the name of it).

I remember my first night on Kadena.. I wanted to get an idea of the layout, so I got a taxi and told him to take me to the farthest point away from where we were (the SP Barracks). I ended up on the Navy side of the base and started navigating my way back on foot. Along about 2200 hours, I turned a corner and was faced with 7 very large Security troops with M-16s locked and loaded... Somehow, "I'm lost" just didn't seem appropriate at the time. I was right in front of the HABU hanger...

For those who are wondering, the "Habu" was the local designation for the SR-71 Blackbird. At the time, there were several Habus based at Kadena that were used for spy missions over China and North Korea. I think that those missions have been taken over by more modern capabilities. Else I might have the FBI knocking on my door in the next few hours.

Yea, I definitely have some fond memories of Kadena. I met my wife there almost 25 years ago. 4 Sep 1981. I busted her and her friends at a barracks party that night and have been google-eyed in love with her ever since. She was the dependent daughter of an AF Chief Master Sgt and it's only been in the last few years that he finally got around to accepting the fact that I married his daughter.

Damn, I could go on all night. Gate 2 Street, Whisper Alley, Kobi Steak Houses, all the nifty electronics you could buy over there..

I think the biggest mistake I ever made in my life was leaving Kadena...

Yea, that's the ticket...

I can't recall what street it was on but may have been Whisper Alley, but I found a nice local restaurant that served some of the best fried rice around for ¥500 there. A person could walk by it without knowing it was even there as it's unassuming front belied what was behind the doors. There was not even the usual dishes in a showcase by the door that many other places boasted.
