MS-Kleaneasy, from your post I take it you have the power to ban people here. At least that is what I got from your response to Geist.
Now, I don't have a dog in this fight. I have no issues with Geist, Or Kurtz, or ROT..
Even though I may not always agree with all of the above and have at times made my feelings clear on different subjects..
You made the comment that although these may not be Geists' exact words, you, somehow, perceived that is what he meant to write or convey.
I submit that this is neither your job, your responsibility nor do you possess the ability to divine what another individual means..or thinks.
Also, I noticed some other remarks directed DIRECTLY at Geist that were less than cordial and could be termed as downright insulting. Yet you failed to address these.
I ask only that you and others police this place and dispense justice equally and fairly and to not let YOUR obvious predjudices color your directives..
If you feel that I have overstepped some self inposed boundries and that I need some discipline, well that is your perogative, I suppose..But I meant no insult, personal or otherwise..
But, I ask only that everyone receive the same treatment here regardless of their stance on any particular subject, and that you weaken your own ability to judge fairly when you single out one individual for disparaging remarks while you simply ignore those of others.
I did not notice Geist indulging in any name calling or personal attacks, although one may agree he might have skirted the edges occasionally. But, as for some others here, that determination is simple to make-they did and do engage in name calling and ridicule, and personal attacks.
So- I ask you to be fair and dispense advice
and warnings and whatever other powers you possess in a fair and judicial manner regardless of your personal feelings for a particular person, ah, uh, including me..
Cause, I pretty much like everyone here..regardless of how I may feel about their particular views..on any given subject...

Leep as a long standing member here you know only too well that a post such as this should never have been created, and any issue with a moderator or their actions should be taken up in private topic.

However you have brought it here so given recent events and the general atmosphere here I will respond here, clarification here we come?????.

In the thread in question Geist DID make the first strike, he first told another member to take it offline simply because he didn?t agree with his comments, and when taken to task on his methods and tone by another member told them to sod off, this was prior to any insults which came the way of Geist. That is why I took Geist and Geist alone to task on the issue.

Recent months have seen a change in this forum. On one hand there has been much more activity which is great but on the other a huge increase in the political discussions herein. Now that?s ok so long as all those involved keep said discussions mature and free of insults/ attacks. While from time to time in the beginning things got somewhat heated for the most part all involved did well to post their opinions in a manner which kept the discussion running without insult/ attack.

Sadly the tone of these threads began to take an unsavoury turn as an overwhelming feeling of superiority came about. This has lead to the ?I?m right your wrong now Shut Up!? situation. There?s little room for discussion and any attempt to discuss is rapidly thwarted by the ?big boys?. This is not an acceptable situation on any forum and certainly not welcome here.

I find it ironic this situation arose after I (yes me) gave you all the freedom to have these political discussions in the first place, despite others misgivings.

This is a great example of what I am referring to, someone on the forum says or does something another doesn?t like so shall we discuss the differing opinion? No we will attack that person and question their integrity to bring their opinions/ actions into question.
On this occasion it has failed, it is clear Geist was out of line in that thread and by starting this thread and making the comments you have Leep you have only succeeded in further demonstrating my point??for that I thank you.

Oh and for the record despite your claims otherwise you did mean to insult me, questioning someone?s integrity is one thing, to do so publicly is a clear and intended insult.
