Just a quick question for anyone who is on the staff who would read these forums.
Where would I need to go to school to become a video game sound designer? I really did not know where to go to ask and I am sure I might not get an answer. Most of what I have researched is directed towards film design. I have researched alot of credits at the end of games and have come to the realization that there is not alot of oportunity in the game field. (20 to 1 ratio of graphic designers to sound designers) If there is anyway I could get some information on the top sound design schools directed towards the gaming industry please let me know. Thank You, Randall Knapp |

Jeff Wesewich the audio designer for Ghost Recon 1 and 2. Hi is a software engineer. He may have worked on GRAW for xbox360, but I haven't seen him on the forums for a long time. If you send a Private Message to Jeff_RSE and ask him about it you may or may not hear from him since he may not even work for RSE anymore.
Simon Viklund, the sound designer for GRAW PC goes by GRiN_desmond22 on GhostRecon.net and is quite an active member of the community. I'm sure he'd talk to you about how to get into sound in computer/video games if you send him a PM. |
