Hi all, i have been tryin g to make a movie and all is good, clip looks good in video edit in game, i convert it to avi with the ingame feature and i edit again using vegas, but when i play it in media it looks grainy and a little choppy at times, is there a wrong setting i use when converting with in game avi feature, or is it vegas 5.0 that has this affect on rendered files.

any help or advice is appreciated

I can't quite answer your other questions properly, but i can say this much: It has nothing to do with Vegas. In that case, you're doing something wrong when rendering.

sounds like a resolution issue?
Don't try and expand your resolution greater than what it was rendered at, or you can have problems. Not sure what is causing the stutters? Maybe hardware, maybe something that happened in the view edit pre-render?
Also make sure that your res is adjusted properly in Vegas.

ty for the info, will check the res sets, but i left them at defualt, i recorded the clips at 1024x768x32, AA at 6S setting an AF at 4x.

My harware is xp2600, msi fx5900xt 256 meg, an gig ddr ram.

When using the avi converter in game feature, is it best to use 100% quality, i have fraps as well, but files are too large and not sure how to make em smaller.

I use the default 25% quality and it works fine. That might be your problem. Try it at 25%.
