Hi all,
I have trouble, which I think every movie maker sometimes has: I need "a couple" of background sounds for my new movie(s), I mean various jet sounds during fly-by, taxiing, engine heating, winds, hustles, cockipt rushes and so on and so on .... but not jets only. Simply every usable sound, I am sure every movie maker understands me. Could anybody share his sound "database" or provide some good link on the WEB? It would be great for me.

Many thanks

Tom

hi,
you can find the in-game effects of the aircrafts etc in your Lomac folder.
.../Lock On/sounds

You need a converter (eg.: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/)
to convert the .ogg files into any other format.

Now you have several sounds.

If you like to have more realistic ones download the
Zzzspace sound pack at http://www.lomacfiles.com or wwww.lockonfiles.com and do the same procedure.

Good luck, hav fun m8 ;-)

Thanks Morpheus for your advice about sound packs for LOMAC, I will try it. I know about LockOn\sounds folder and I used some effects from that, but almoust in game sounds are not much realistic. What I actually asked were real sounds, e.g. grabbed from various movies. I have some, but not fully fair for me.

Thanks Tom

I haven't found any real sounds either. Only 2 of a passing su-27 and a passing f-16.
If you want to grab the effect from a movie, try this page.
There are a lot a' movies from every plane you wish to have.

Yeap, I have many movies from Patrick's site, but majority of them has mixed music into original sounds. All right, I have to help myself. Thanks for reply.

Look here: http://www.sounddogs.com/

Quite many F15 F14 especially many F16 sounds. One can work with these. You also have sounds of what different missiles sound like, some sound almost like ordinary A/C. You have cabin sounds too but most are from commercial airliners.

Myself is still on a desperate hunt for lengthy audio tracks of pilot grunting and that it is varied so one cannot hear it is a repetition. I have manufactured one file that is pretty good from a F15 pilot.

Then I have another from a F16 pilot that is having the mic wide open the whole time even when he is not talking so you hear the breathing, but you also hear that a jet cockpit there is a noisy rumble worse than a commercial airliner, the closest would be what a commercial airliner sounds like when it is on the the runway at takeoff att full throttle, so I guess somewhere there is the cruise sound on a little thin skinny fighter. Now on the other hand they have the helmet on, so it is noisy but at the same time not so noisy.

Where and when and how the brathing noises are recorded in the real videos I don't know. With the mask strapped real hard against the face we again loose cockpit sound in these videos and only hear the voice clearly, when they talk they don't breather in the mic, they talk.

Still there is breathing noises in some videos so I been wondering if there is a 'local talk' channel in two-seaters where the mic is on the whole time.

Also if there is no ambient sound on such channel the pilot must have the masked strapped on, and if there is very noisy then probably he has loosened the mask.

So what does a sukhoi sound inside and how does a small F16 sound inside...... questions questions questions ..... no answers .... why can't they just send someone out with a MIC and record the real deal and the **** we need, ED are really cheap. Can't they just ask nicely a F15 squadron to give a helping hand?

Audio in LockOn is really weak and absolutely definitely unrealistic all of it.

Feeling of flight is ofcourse good but that also is not realistic. I want a real F15 FM at least some of the basic fundamental parts of the real thing as been described in interviews.

And for example how much would i cost them to just give our landing gear springs, they don't need to give the A/C a full complete physics and damage model, just some springs and dampers and the ability for landing gear to flex, how hard would that be. I think people would be happy if they see a little bit polished on all A/C every release, just so that F15 fans for example does not feel pushed aside having to wait for the next IceAge before having anything done to their jet.

If they feel there is not going to happen with LockOn that concerns/interests them the coming 4 years they leave, won't they....

over and out ..
