I'm trying to make a movie in Premiere, but I have real problems keeping the file size down and the quality up on my finished movie. The movie is a little over 4 minutes long, and the .avi file I get from Premiere is 100MB!!! Can anyone tell me what to do? What do you use in your export timeline settings?
100 MB! THAT AIN'T NOTHING! Dude, my paradox film was almost 2 GB in .avi files. encoding the final render to .WMV format crunched it all down to 77 MB!!!!! Fricken insane compression! But I hear that divx is even more efficient. But the results I got in Vegas 5 made me stick to .WMV's Good luck!

I am using divx now, but I just can't get the filesize down. I hear Vegas is pretty good, but I can't speed up my imported fraps files more than 300% (if I remember correctly), and that's why I have to stick with premiere...
If you're talking about the .avi files I imported after using fraps, I think I had about 11GB of .avi when I started editing. I'm talking about the finished film size.
Premiere is more hardcore than vegas, you only need to know how to use it. My advice to you is that you should to to enable a compressor in the export settings (advanced settings) or choose a other file format..
