I haven't checked in 1.1, but in all the previous versions you had to have all base missions that you are recording from built on day "001" for the AVI tool to work. Otherwise you will see the avi render go straight to the sound record screen for about a sec, and then back to debriefing screen with NO avi recorded.
If that is not it, like I said BE SPECIFIC as to what your seeing.

p.s. If it is the day that is affecting it, I don't think there is anything you can do other than edit the mission to the proper 001 day and re-record all your tracks.

I select my track, my codec (any codec), launch the conversion and lock on crash, I see the loading page for 2 seconds then crash out to windows.. still remain the lock on button on the blue bar.

Do you have the Huffy codec installed? Huffy causes LOMAC to crash out of the AVI maker.

check the briefing tab of the mission itself.
It will default to 001 - 12:00, but if you don't know where it is, chances are you didn't change it, and thats not your problem.
I also think there are a few codecs that can cause problems, other than HUFFY, so you might check that as well.

Whats the advantages of using the AVI recorder as apposed to FRAPS?

And how would I go about using this feature.. I do see when I go to OPEN MISSION and choose the track and then in the load screen I choose the PlAY TRACK from the drop down, but I can also see a RECORD AVI select as well. Is this how im supposed to record this.

The AVI recorder renders one frame at a time, so no matter what your hardware you can produce a vid w/high quality visuals on any rig. It takes quite a bit longer than fraps. I prefer to use the AVI tool. Everyone has their own way they like to render.

And you're correct about how to use the tool.

Nope, that is fun.. I mean, with your settings I have NUMBERED SCREENSHOTS, that's what I mean, I need to produce video, not numbered screenshots..

a video IS sequential frames or screen shots Wink
This option eliminates the 2gig max file restriction that can occur when using the video options.

Simply join the screens together in your editing program like so....

But as rugg has said, this is all personal prefrence and what works best for you and your equipment.

Oh you cant' be serious.. I'm a professional editor but I've never seen people working with numbered screenshots.. oh this is really crazy man.. An "AVI RECORDER" is supposed to record AVI! this AVI RECORDER is full of bugs (same as lock on..).

a video IS sequential frames or screen shots?!! oh thanx for the great news duude!.

Is there anybody here who knows HOW TO EXPORT AN AVI ? I tried with tons of settings with no results.

if you are a professional converting the screens back to AVI should be no problem and can be a combined step in the first edit phase....
I figured you wanted the best possible picture quality, but if you just want an avi use fraps.
