I purchased Vegas 5 for school and I'm having some issues with it. To get to know the program I decided to do a LOMAC movie. I remember people saying that in order to get the best effects, they would max the graphics and record at half speed and then speed it up in post-production.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do it (speed it up). The manual and the Help sections aren't working as advertised. lol Anyone?

you need to set a velocity envelope.
From here you can speed up or slow down a clip.

I use Vegas too! For the life of me you don't want to speed all your shots the same in vegas.

You captured your shots in FRAPS right? Then you should download virtual dub to either crop the top or bottome region, or to SPEED UP YOUR FRAMERATE.
From experience, you don't always want to speed up all your shots to the same framerate. Some sky shots with very little going on almost dont need it and if you do, it looks like someone hit the fast forward button. And some shots you just need to bump it up to 20 or 25 fps, and not 30. However, you will be spitting out duplicate .avi's so you need more space, but this way you have total control of each shot to make it look the best it possibly can.

Thanks a lot guys. Hey LOC, any other suggestions for me, seeing as how ****ed good you are at this! lol BTW, I need a few more things... In my view.cfg file, what do i need to change so I can get "ground level" shots. Also, I can't seem to get close enough to the aircraft in some of the shots I'm doing. Is there anything else to modify (clipping?)??

Thanks again.

you dont have to speed all the shots the same. You can do whatever you want.
You want to turn off terrain restriction in the view config file.
