Hi all,
I am working on my second movie and currently I am using Movie Maker. I have noticed that in the test sequences I have made using MM that there is a lot of "banding" namely, in the sky shots and some on the water/ground. I used GameCamLite to film the sequences as avi files and they replay without the banding, so I am left to assume it is a fault of MM. Any recomendations on how to lessen this banding problem? I would like my movies to be a clear and sharp as possible. Thanks |

I always use MM to compress my final movie to .wmv to distribution, and I've never noticed this.
Maybe you're trying to make the movie too small and losing a lot of information? Or maybe it's a 32-bit/16-bit thing? It might be an idea to check that your desktop and LOMAC modes are the same... ie both 32 bit or 16-bit. If you;re flying in 16 bit and your desktop's 32 that might explain it. Getting the best quality in a final movie is hard work though, especially when using things like Fraps ans Cam-whatsit, because there's a limit to the quality of the material you can save in the first place. Thanks for the reply.
I am using the trial version of GameCam and it does limit my video size. I would think this would give higher detail rather than less. I do have both the game and my desktop at the same res and have the game's detail to max for all my scenes. |

BTW, what settings do you use when your render your movie in MM?
