Downloaded and watched it....and... *tear* *sniffle*

o my my my friggen my gosh! Now THIS was the type of masterpiece i like seein from ya. I dont know about others, but this was FAR better than No fear. First off, good lil story there, i remember that NewB vid..haha never thought there would be an oncore to it! I LOVE how you combined outside fun with inside views in addition to real life scenes! bow In many of your scenes it honestly became very difficult to tell if it was real or not, you made a short aerobatic track into a phenomenal viewing experienice. The music fit it quite nicely, showed the gracefullness to the fullest extent. Great views and editing, this video in particular makes me want to jump into Lomac and into mah good ol baby flanker. I know people got this with no fear, but this one just took the cake. Razz You surely displpayed my baby well, great job. Even so, the flying itself was pretty neat...that last manuever and landing was shweet, loved that bouncy landing...adds to the fact it was your second Flanker hop!

-=Bravo=-....now since you did so well with your 2nd flanker flight, howabout persuading them to hand you over another pimped out flanker. Cant wait for the 3rd! Mean Happy

Nice work. It's always hard to keep the action flowing with an aerobatic movie, but what you lost in close up action you largely gained in overall "feel". The views are often very good at recreating the feel of watching an air display. That feeling is greatly enhanced by the processing treatment you've given it. Very realistic at times.

I'm also very impressed by the visual quality considering the file size. Mastering the dark art of successful compression is a big factor in movie making (IMO anyway) and it's something I've always struggled with.

Anyway, thanks for another interesting contribution to the genre.

Very good watching. Thanks for showing us your work. Im not going to praise or critique techniques and that kind of stuff, just want to share my feeling about watching this and your other movies.

You do have your style and sort of brand, and
seeing the movie without and credits or titles
I would be more than sure to say who was the author.
Not only this one, same goes for MaxG or NoFear. That is very good thing. What I like about your movies are very good scenes, overall editing, post-production effects and esp. sound editing. Those nitty-gritty details when listening to the movie Smile Very good work.

Would like to point you a word of warning - of course this is only my opionion based on my feeling - I dont how what you're doing, your plans, projects etc. etc.

Your clips are good to watch, I can keep playing them over and over again, watching and listening to the music etc. etc. but they dont have any emotional influence on the viewer. They are (despite of the subject) very good sort of mtv clips. They are excellent to watch, but they don't have impact for me to remember them (from emotional point of view).
Just to point what I have in mind is the Dobberman "Sun Breath" movie. It's not the movie I can watch over and over again - it's gets boring after
a while - but it is definately the movie I will remember, mostly because of emotions that are raised when watching this.

What Im trying to say is hold a moment, think, and try to do something different (good storyline movie
etc) so you wont catch yourself in position when you
are making new yet the same types of movies. All those fancy editing/fx will be catching viewers eyes
as long as it's new. While watching NoFear I thought
'hey the ways he show this is good', while watching
ShowCenter I thought 'very good but I know this from somewhere'. The big plus for ShowC are the real life
additions. That is something new. Good idea!

But from some point the ShowC and NoFear are smiliar... hope you know what Im tryin to get into...
try not to get stuck in the same formula.

And coming back to Show Center - just interesting, what was the "real world" footage that we can see in the movie. Is there any chance that you could post or send me the original material. Being avaiation fan I'll try to put my hands on any photo/video/texts etc. I can get.

Keep up with the good work,
Kris
ps. sorry for all writing and spelling mistakes, english is not my native language.

Kichu, Thanks for the comments/cc, i appreciate it. Wink
I have done a couple movies with story lines, but they dont seems to get as much attention, as the "MTV" style, which is the effect i was going for btw.
Tales of the fallen pt 1 and 2 are story based, have you seen those?

p.s. The vid clips are from a Russian Knights vid

A good movie with storyline definately will get peoples' attention. It ain't easy to do that kind of movie... even pros productions have often problem with that. I know it's easy to say, but hey Im just playing critique here Smile

I've seen the "... fallen part 1" (now downloading part 2) and for me this looks
like a documentary movie. You tell what happened there, but you dont build the - dont know the right word in english for this - viewers' attention(?), the movie just doesn't have an immersion factor and emotional impact, you just put all the facts and stuff on the table and tell the viewer, look, see what happened. Once he get the beggining of the story he will definately know the end. Sort of watching BBC World War 2 movies... you dont look that to know who win the ww2. You know that from the very beggining. Same feeling for fallent part 1. My biggest "complaint" about the movie is that you dont build the immersion, couriosity, you dont make me think what's going to happen. The way the story its told reveals all unknowns, even before the real action starts. I liked the begging when you started to build the attention... but later on pooh and its gone.

Few good storyline movies that have some suff Im talking about are Dobberman Sun Breath and Dawn ghost. Sun Breath for example will the the story in minimalistic way, but the way its done makes your brain think, analyze etc. etc. Thats whats getting emotional impact and immersion is all about. You build the suspense, to release it at some point.

I wonder if you are familiar with some of Il-2/Forgotten Battles movie productions. They might not be as good as lomacs' mostly because of technical limitations of game engine (can't have views and in-game render as in lomac), but
few are well though and written. I'd suggest you take a look at "Requiem" (the winner of the first il-2 movie contest, few years ago). This movie tells a story without using any single word. Thats what IMO a good storyline movie is all about.

If you get the viewer thinking, analyzing then you make his brain remember that stuff. If you show him all on the plate, he will just watch & forget.

I also urge you to look at the il-2 movie called "Promise". This is very good attempt to make a long storyline movie (almost 20 minutes).
Of course there are better and worse parts, but overall impression is very good. Much different than these short stuff. DO check out his trailer of the movie... that a little materpiece.

All that stuff can be found on il2 movie makers forum on ubi.com).

Will write more as soon as fallen part 2 will download.

One more thing about show-center, the small PIP view was a great idea. First it shows a nice perspective of the flying also it will not let the viewer get bored during some long scenes... when your brain/eye get used to some scene it will automatically shift your concentration on the small picture. This working back and forth.
Try to cover that part of the screen and watch the footage, you will see all scenes in a little different way. Some appear too long for example. Bravo for real work additions, I loved the salute part in the end Smile, but still wondering why you forgot to include http://videos.f16techs.com/marshalling.WMV on the beggining Big Grin

Keep up with the good work
Kris
