Greetings,
I usually hang in IL-2 movie-maker forums but you guys might be interested in this. 74MB .WMV lasts about 8 min. To get the Full Effect, grab a pair of black tinted sunglasses and cover only one (1) eye. That way you can watch it in 3-D! S! JavDog
Heyy...That was a great job JavDog. A little Lomac mixed with a little IL-2 + a dash of "Final Countdown-the movie". Nice job with the Time Warp... Two F-15's can't shoot down a couple of Zero's...man they need to go back and get some additional combat training or get bench...because they both Suck!! hehehe The Zero pilot got some good hits on the one F-15... Nice job again..... Best Regards |

I remember seeing that movie way back when when I was a kid...I remember it as 1941 though and I dont know why.
Great movie, albeit different. If you intend on eating lead paint chips, bring salsa. |

The concept of time travel to ww2 is from the movie, but everything else is original. I didn't want to be similar, but anything with jets and timetravel is bound to jog peoples memory. Thanks again!

WOW that really was AMAZING!? And not for editing or for the effects...but just for the sheer originality and idea! I always thought about going back in time with a flanker and going against 40 spitfires..and you just made a great vid about it, and i must say, it was pretty realistic how their missles kept missing due to the low heat emmision of the props
Very well done, I enjoyed how everything really built up before they traveled back, Really got you going. The music fit it perfectly. Also, The voice comms really were something. It really added to the immersion and added A LOT to the overall movie. You synced the words and the scenes perfectly. It really gave off the scared/confused tone of the pilots. Lastly, good idea with the time travel effect. I see you got that from the windows media player...very smart lol. I always just sit there watching the windows media colors and think to myself weow, it really feels like im warping through time. Thanks for putting it to use! Btw, have you posted this in the Il2 forums as well? Hope you make more
| AMD 3500 | 6800GT 256MB | 2 GIGs RAM | 232 GB HD |
|

KuostA, Thanks Bud!
Did you "get" the ending scene? One of them followed them to the present! I don't see why you still can't make your Flanker movie. I think that would be awsome! There are so many more stories yet to be told!!!! Be warned, though, it is a lot of time to capture from 2 games! Story board first, this will save you INVALUABLE TIME! At least do that in your mind, so you just get only usable shots. I honestly did not expect this response. This isn't about me, I think this is about our community. I'm not too worried about pushing it anymore, and having it be "accepted". Regards! "A man who loves what he does, never works a day in his life." -Chinese Proverb |

Hu JavDog,
this was very enojoyable movie. Manu thumbs up for the story, editing, sound fx et all Loved the soundtrack, will be getting those soungs as soon as possible However speaking of storyline, there's something you could do a little better in my opinion. Im speaking of sort of suspense thing. In my opinion you told the viewer too much and lost all X questions that viewer would add when watching this. Let's got from the start.. we have text about einstein, stephen hawkings, then you say maybe technologo doesn't have to, maybe nature can, then we have f15 flying thru rainstorm, then we have a long timewarp, then we see "1941", then we see the f15s see ccontacts and we see they are zeros before they attack and hit the poor f15 and the action follows. IMO you tell the viewer too much too soon, okay the movie is interesting as Im wondering what will happen, bu t I know a lot more than the main characters "f15'... so I dont think i dont put so much attention to their story. No imagine the same part of the movie goes like this. We see stephen hawkings statement that echnology will not allow us to reach the speed, the next text that appear in the movie should be a question, not the statement. "S.H. concludes that technology will never take man to that speed..." ... "... so what will?" (viewers starts to think) Then we see f15 takeof sequence and fly thru storm and weird things start to happen ecm failure, something else failure, stor, rain, thunder, failure... thunder... bang... bang... and they find themselves in a different environamnt... [ no timewarp which looks nice but reminds me cheap '70 sci-fi movies ... now they are getting conctats (do not show the zeros yet) the contacts are getting close, they asking they wondering, you show "dots in the sky closing. One guy is getting shot at during the pass, the other gets visual ID on zeros. "What the F**K, where are we. They are japaneese zeros..." Now you can show the bandits.... The back to the future timewarp could also be faster, they get into the cloud, failure, bang bang and off they are... ground control asking for the on the radio.. "we lost the contact", return to base. And the zero following.... Well, what you think of it ? :-) |

Kris,
Whats up! Well, It sounds like your ready to make one but in the eastern front Glad you enjoyd it. Thats what it's purpose was. As far as how you would've executed the warp, the zero encounter, the dialogue....I guess, if I were RAF-Kichu, thats how the story would have unfolded. I don't want to do all the tricks or techniques in just one film. Thats for all the new movie makers to come up with. Thats how we progress the community. I was inspired to do the sound by Monty-Dan, inspired to do the music by Ridley Scott, inspired to pace it like the Wachowski brothers, we build upon each other and find new ways to inovate with the limited but powerful tools we have. I can't fly worth a ****, but I know what I like and I like my stories nice and tight, so thats how I make them. So, I am going to watch tidbits now, and I'll comment on that over there. Thanks again Kris, I'll remember your advice! This message has been edited. Last edited by: JavDog, "A man who loves what he does, never works a day in his life." -Chinese Proverb |

OMW packing to Eastern Front
quote: JD, it was not my point to tell that you should done you movie this or that way. They way you made movie didnt impact my enjoyemnt of watching this at all. And thats a good piece of work definately. Do not treat this critique as judge trial or something this way. The whole point about critique is to make author look on its own work from a different perspective, as when making movie you usually know all ins and outs and have watched the things many many times. When making tidbits I got some feedback from my friends whom I showed my in progress parts. After reading some of their comments I thought... I know what he is getting into, but I wont do that because that would mess with my general idea for the movie (and he wanted just typical rock music & stunts scenes)... after reading some others I thought... yep he is right this part might be done better... and I slightly reworked some scenes. That whats constructive criticism is all about. The point I was writing about in all that storyline was sort of tip 'how to make viewer think and/or getting emotional about the movie'. The more you make the viewer think, the more impact you get on his memory/brain. The whole thing about suspense and such stuff is difference between knowing what's going on out there and just watching how the characted will handle the situation or getting emotional about it and solving the problem along with the character -> this is possible only if you don't know everything and the situation is a mystery both to you and movie character. Its the difference between watching and remembering the movie. In lomac movies there are films I like watching over & over again because they are nice , eye candy etc. etc. and they just keep me amusing, and there are movie which I remember (sun breath my favourite), because of the impact it had on me. Simple but suggestive. Compare the suspense issue to watching "Seven" for the first time in the dark cinema and then later second time on dvd at home with lights on when you know more or less what happens next. And dont treat yourself as a movie noob. YOu are definately underestimating your work all the best, Kris |
