I heard here that some people record the videos in lomac at half speed and after just speed them up in vegas or other Roll Eyes.

What do you mean whith "half speed", slow down the game using the alt+A and control+A?? or record at low speed in fraps?

Thank you Wink

Record at half speed in-game, pushing "ALT-A" 1 time. At least this is how i do it.

Being a newbie to the LOMAC movie maker scene, what effect does this have?

Does it make the playback more smooth?

Thanks

Of course it does. Say, your fps slows down to 15 fps when recording with fraps. You record at half speed in-game, and then speed the clip up 1 time in a movie editor, the clip with run at 30 fps.

Thanks for the tip Glowing. Your movies really inspire me to make mine better.

BTW, where do you find your great music, such as the music from "Heat"?

Thanks

... exactly ... sometimes I use even 1/8 or 1/16 speed for some shoots, when I plan to use "slowdown" effect.

If you slow down the speed of Lockon to half speed Glowing, at what fps do you record in fraps. When I do it in IL-2 I set fraps to 12 fps, and when I get it in to vegas I bump it up to 24 fps.

I am having a little problem with this.

If you don't mind me asking, what screen res are you recording at? And are you recording in fraps, full or half size?

a few questions though:

when you record at half speed, of course audios are recorded at normal speed.

now, you speed up the track in vegas as a matter of fact the audio speeds up as well making it unusable ...

at first i looked for a way to speed up only the video track ... then i figured okay the final products would be totally out of synch since the audio has been recorded at normal speed ...

to keep this short ...

a) just out of curiosity, is there a way to speed up only the video track (not speeding up any audio tracks, .mp3's, etc.) at the same time?

b) is it true then if you record at half speed and speed up in lomac that the audio track recorded with the video becomes unusable because of synch issues?

finally, i think i still have a question left for you guys: slowing down in lockon one click (guess alt+a) is how much speed up in vegas, ie 1.17 or what?

cheers mates

--- Yes, if you select the VIDEO track in vegas, you will speed up ONLY the clip, the audio track will not speed up. If you're still having troubles with this, then simply click on the video track, and delete it, that way, the sound file will remain. Import drag the clip onto the timeline again, and delete the audio portion (you dont need 2 identical sound clips), and speed the clip up and place it in synch with the audio track which was left behind after you deleted the previous clip. Lol, hope that makes sense. Tongue

b) is it true then if you record at half speed and speed up in lomac that the audio track recorded with the video becomes unusable because of synch issues?

--- Hm, if you're gonna use the sound from in-game....why not just import all the audio files from the "effects" folder and place and synch the audio manually (like i do)?

finally, i think i still have a question left for you guys: slowing down in lockon one click (guess alt+a) is how much speed up in vegas, ie 1.17 or what?

--- You hit "ALT-A" ONCE, hit unpause (S), record the footage, go into vegas, drag the clip onto the timeline, right click ----> properties on the clip, change the speed from "1.00 ---> 2.00". Now you have normal lomac speed with double the fps. Wink2

Hope this helps.

that all makes sense, glowing ...

i guess i have seen all of your movies which are most excellent by the way ...

bow bow bow

... and i figured that you are mainly working with background music and sound flicks to underline the situation ...

ok here's another question then Smile

do you record tracks let's say live in lockon or do you save the footage as a track then do the editing and then record the entire clip and cut it in what vegas? or do you record fragments from that track so you end up with a lot of avi's on your hd?

i have never recorded or edited a track in lockon, will do this right now ... so it might be possible that some of the above is nonsense then Surprised

cheers

I create the track, the i hit "edit track" or whatever, then i do the shooting "live", so to speak.. find an angle for a situation, record it, find new angle, record it...and so on. So i end up with lots and lots of different .avi's in my fraps folder. Tongue

.... .true, true Tongue ... like most of us m.bryo. For your imagination, I am recently creating acrobatic video with F-15 (expected release during februar) and now I have about 3:00 minutes finished and that represents 23GB of rough shootings and 223 files in timeline Wink. That's life ... Beavis (said Butthead) Veryhappy
