hrm is creating avis supposed to go that slowly.. even with uncompressed frames.. I could probably count the frames per second myself at this rate. I tried just using fraps to record my tracks instead and it seems pretty fast

It's normal because the AVI Tool in Lock On renders frame by frame, hence why the resulting AVI has no slow down whatsoever...
I myself prefer to use Fraps, it is much faster to get results!

Yeah, plus, i don't see any HUGE difference between fraps footage and the .avi footage. More detail with smoother fps? so..??

I mean, movies on the TV, cinemas, DVD.. they are no more than 24 fps anyway, lol
