Hi all

I am new to LOMAC movie making and would like to know where I can find some quality background music for my vids?

Other than the music cds I have, is there anywhere else I can go on the web to find good theme music? I especially like that russian theme one, has some choir like voices in it. I think it was used in a car commercial once!

Sorry for being so vague on that russian theme!

Thanks all

Try MP3 sites and stuff, also film music works quite well as a background.

Just search the internet for a specific theme and if possible include the writer as well, I don't want to say too much cos it's not exactly legal to download music off the net, so for a theme you would type:

Crimson Tide - Main Theme - Hans Zimmer.

Other than that go into shops and buy it!

Thanks,

I didn't mean to imply I was interested in copyrighted music. I have found some free military music mp3's. Just wondered if anyone here had a fave or two.

BTW, if I use a song to accompany a vid, as long as the vid is for personal use, am I okay regarding copyright/royalties?

Well, as far as I am aware (copyright laws are rather complex and ever changing these days) so long as you provide adequate crediting of the copyrighted material (i.e. name of artist/composer, name of track, and probably where it was used, like in a movie soundtrack or summit), and you do not use it for financial reward, i.e. you don't sell it or something, then you should be fine.

But then, where you actually got the track becomes an issue. Whether you dled it off the net for free, or if you bought in a shop on cd, etc. If you didn't pay for it, there may be legal implications for that.

But for Lomac movies, it's not really an issue (yet VeryHappy ) so I wouldn't worry about it.

whit ye looking at, ya big jessie?!?!

That could well be the Russian national anthem.

Hi everyone again. I have finally made a video in Lock On and have used a Joe Satriani song as background music.

I would like to share this video, i.e. upload it to a site where others could view it, but would like to know if this is "legally" allowable, since obviously, Mr Satriani owns the legal rights to the song and would like to know how it is being used.

Thanks again,

dude....we are talking about a free movie that maybe a couple thousand people (probably not Joe) will see. I would not sweat the copy right stuff, for this minor endeavor Wink
Unless of course, you are already having legal issues regarding copyrights of Mr. Satriani music :P

p.s. if you need a place to serve the vid, you could use rapidshare, or something like that.

Thanks,

This is what I thought, but pays to be sure.

I have posted the video on http://www.youtube.com. It is 41MB in size and is called "Flying In The Blue Dream". This should be the link:

I made the video using the shareware version of Game Cam, thus the watermark and limited size of the video.

I look forward your thoughts, pos and/or neg, on the video.

Thanks

I like story telling in a movie.
Did not see that in yours.
No problem anyway, cause, any first atempt like I did a first myself a while ago should be encouraged by give'ing you positive feedback.
If you get some, probebly you will like to make a second, third, ...
Every time your skills will grow...

Go on Capt.. ! Like to see you grow !

Thanks for the reply

I was trying to go for an airshow/aerobatics kind of movie.

I have some some really really great movies, almost motion picture quality and those are the ones I want to try and make. The Glowing Amraam movies are the best I think.
