Hi,

As said in title I've never made a nice movie before. Today I got up with the idea of making a LO: MAC-video though. So I started brainstorming and came up with some ideas. These ideas brought some problems with them too though. First of all, I use Fraps to record in-game which results in files that are HUGE.
Second, I can't make the video in one piece, so I'll have to cut, paste, ... Things I have never done before. At least I haven't with movies. So I don't have any kind of programs on my PC to do so.

So my questions are:
- Are there any recommended good programs to record in-game with smaller movie-sizes? Or a good converter?
- What programs can be used to cut/paste/... movie segments into one beautiful piece?

Doesn't matter if these programs are free to download from the internet or if I have to pay to get them. (Although I would like free programs more. Wink2 )

Thanks in advance. Smile

Movie Maker 2 is free for XP from Microsoft (might even be in the SP2 service pack, I'm not sure). It has very few special effects to play with, but that's why it's not $500+! :-)

As for recording... get used to huge file sizes. They eat hard disk, but big, uncompressed clips are easier for editing software to deal with. If you edit compressed clips the editor has to decompress on the fly, which can slow things down a *lot* and lead to instability.

Good luck.

For the music I use:
Acoustica MP3 Audio Mixer.
This program is simple and you can mix up to eight songs at one time if you like.
Or you can delete the part which is to long by a fade out which you can handle the way you like.
