Also do you think we will be able to use hand signals in the game?

There is a trailer out there on IGN (I think Im not positive) where the developers went out to the field with Special Forces. They tested out the weapons that will be in the game and they also trained using hand signals while moving through the bush. So that may be a clue that yes hand signals will be in the in game. I really we can use them.

2 things

1) is there any news of releasing an xbox live demo?

2) I was playing the COD4 beta and asked some kids if they knew of or were getting the AA game. They said no because "it was too realistic for them". I thought some of you would think that was good news as I did.

That is good news Smile. But in all reality, I'm fine with kids as long as they're mature.

I'm of the mentality of the more the merrier. More gamers = more money for Ubisoft = more reason to continue to support the game. You can always filter out immature gamers with avoid tags and playing off of your friends list anyway. It only takes about a week or so of playing open games to build a decent size friends list.

i hope that the ''take cover against walls'' feature like R6 vegas is there. that was the best control about R6:vegas. in some of the screen shots it looked like they where taking cover. in GRAW you could take cover in SP but not in MP mode??? that was a make or break deal for me and everyone else i knew coming from R6 LV . we'll see if AA has it before everyone runs out to get it. if not then we'll wait for COD4 and see which one is better. i only need 1 FPS at a time and both COD4 and AA look good.

Oh God I hope not. Atleast not the way Vegas did it, that would ruin it. This game is supposed to be realistic. Last time I checked you didn't put your back to a wall and magically be able to see around it without exposing yourself. If you can't take cover normally without a cover-system, then you probably shouldn't be playing games like America's Army in the first place.

Thanks

Agree

even without the 3rd person view i have no interest in being forced to stick to objects in order to peek. Nuh uh

im a big fan of the system in the new MOH:A.it could use some tweaking, but all in all its an excellent system.....with no 3rd person or forced wall hugging, both of which are realism and therefore immersion killers for me.

the only way i would be open to a wallstick CS is if it was limited to FP and we still had the ability to lean anywhere and everywhere....in which case i just wouldnt(or would rarely) use it(wallstick).

If they use a system similar to MOH: Airborne I hope they improve the control scheme. I did'nt even know you could move while aiming until someone on the BFS forums told me.

i think the cover system is fine in the pc version. I like the leaning around objects not sticking to them. Im kind of confused why this would make or break the game for you....are you going to hold cod4 to the same standard?

as i said,it could definately use some tweaking.but a fluid lean(anywhere) cant be beat imo.

I highly doubt any cover feature will be there but I know a lean one will be. Wish it was like Airborne's but I have the feeling it'll be more like GRAW1/2's. FPV, fluid system would work but vegas' TPV, either back to wall or completely exposed robitc feature has to go in a tactical game. Hope there is a demo, though. I dont wanna risk not getting it at Blockbuster the first day, because I trully am never going to buy a game without playing it first ever again.

if they had a lean like in that paintball game on the original box.
when you pressed the trigger it was a touch sensative thing. the more you pressed the more you leaned.

but they could use the left bumper.
you push the left bumper and the left stick goes into lean mode and the more you pull the stick the more the guy leans untill you let go og the bumper and then your guy moves normally. or the bumper could work as a toggle to turn lean on and off as apposed to holding it down

Best cover system I've seen in gameplay vids is Killzone2. I don't have a PS3, and I'm an Xbox Fanboy, but KZ2 seems to have nailed the cover system. Its first person, not 3rd person.

As far as this game... word of mouth is the only thing that can save it. The developer/publisher is worrying me, due to this game almost being out and no info of sorts. One IGN article... thats it. There are plenty of free avenues for game companies to use, to drum up buzz and Red Storm as great as the GR series is, this game has me worried... no buzz, sends off warnings to me that this game could be very lacking. COD4 will be my game of choice I'm afraid, for the Fall. After playing the Beta, I know this game is super solid, and it has the buzz, previews, info, community backing to prove it. America's Army isn't on any journalists/reviewers/Xbox community radar. This game should be left in the cooker and polished and have more features added to it, then released during a drought in the 360's release schedule, not during the height of the biggest release quarter in 360's history, or consoles gaming for that matter. Mistake.

COD 4.....ehh it was ok but it was the same old run and gun bs as always. The media coverage does worry me a little but i think this game will see to the same niche crowd that plays AA on xbox and on the computer. You can still pick up ghost recon summit strike for xbox and find games. A small tight community will be nice. Im just worried that redstorm wont put any time into it after release if there is a small base

Obviously you didn't play search and detroy in Team Tactical, which was an objective mission type, and was not "run & gun" or you didn't play the Beta at all.

COD4 will have some of the best multiplayer on 360, IMO. And go ahead and keep playing Summit Strike if AA sucks... I'll be playing with COD4.

well actually i did play the beta and search and destroy on team tactical and it is still very much run and gun. Unless your with friends tactics go right out the window and everyone plays it like it was Halo. Im not going to try to turn this into a whats better thread as i think COD4 is a good game its just not my style. It really feels like the same **** they have been pushing out since the first one with a different setting. Im telling you this will have a fan base and i only brought up summit strike as it had a very loyal fan base and you can still get games on it. Is it as active as some other games...absolutely not but the fun is still there. You dont need millions of kids buying the game for it to be worth the purchase. I do agree though more press would be nice as i would like to see more tactical games like this come out. This will be the first one to come out on 360 FINALLY

i think COD4's "hardcore mode" sounds promising.

doesnt Killzone 2 still force you into wallsticking for the cover system though?

thats a deal killer for me,almost as much as a 3rd person cam would be.

i like to use a lean to "slice the pie"(at varying distances from cover),rather than popping out from corners.

the new OXM had a 2 page ad btw.
